Honestly i would say Diablo is still the better hack and slash. I will say now Diablo 3 aswell will continue to be great in terms of H&S

I would consider God of War a puzzle/action. A bit of hack and slash, obviously - but a lot more thought goes into the game than mindless slaughter.

My vote goes to the Dynasty Warriors series.

Nothing better spells out brainless, meaningless massacres.

Does anyone remember Kings Field? Those games were great.
And Eternal Ring reminded me of Kings Field, only with better graphics. xD
