Movie and Video Game Weapons I Would Use Together in a Video Game

A Document by Hevvy180 (online -- I prefer anonymity in reality)

Note: Ratings are IMHO and for the weapon and its category exclusively, unless referring to Chuck Norris, in which case it refers to all weapon classes.

Offensive and Practical

Close Combat
Primary weapon: Freddy Kruger glove – for the defenseless, an underhanded strike. Ruptures the heart and left lung, and kills quickly. Also used to block attacks from knives. Does great damage from the slashing of the claws, and it just looks scarier than anything else when you flex it in the guy's face. 9.6 0f 10.
Secondary weapon: assassin's knife – that knife I wanted in Sparky's. Good for a discreet weapon and can be used efficiently in close range. Assassin's dream come true. 8.4 of 10.
Alternates: brass knuckles, gauntlets, spiked boots, spiked brass knuckles, three-clawed gloves (they resemble Wolverine's claws [almost made it]), etc.

Mid-short distance combat
Primary weapon: lightsaber – light and powerful, useful for blocking bullets and essentially dismembering people. Resembles an Asian sword in function (a light, fast weapon) and a European sword (x3,000,000,000...) in power. Summary: indestructible samurai sword. 9.7 of 10.
Secondary weapon: Gears of War 2 Lancer with working chain – a machine gun with a chainsaw attached to the bottom for melee combat; refined for blasting and dismembering. Also useful for yard work – saw down the tree and keep away the crazy old lady on your street at the same time! 8.6 of 10.
Other primary weapon: scythe – decent range, high decapitating potential, and it looks cool when you're wearing a hooded black cloak and pointing a bony hand at someone. 9.4 of 10.
Alternates: blade tonfa (almost made the other primary weapon), chainsaw (preferably gas-powered), machete, samurai sword, shrike throwing knives, shurikens, throwing axes, wooden tonfa, war hammers (an old favorite of mine), etc.

Medium Distance Combat
This is, IMHO, my Area of Expertise. You'd do well to consider it.
Primary weapon: minigun. Easy, no contest, hands-down winner. Its rapid-fire capabilities and massive amounts of ammunition mean it can keep firing until it needs to cool down, and the cooldown time is minimal enough that you can stay alive with another gun until you're all cooled down. The steady barrage of bullets means anything in range is pounded, pelted, and finally shredded beyond all recognition. 10 of 10, hands-down!
Secondary weapon: 2 12-gauge auto-loader shotguns with the stocks and barrels sawn off. That would be like two shotguns you could use as pistols. 9.8 of 10.
Alternates: any automatic or semi-auto weapon, Force lightning, fuel rod guns, the needler, the plasma pistol, the plasma rifle, rifles, shotguns, etc.

Mid-Long/Long Distance Combat
Primary weapon: Halo sniper rifle – powerful and accurate with a scope that could magnify 8x the normal distance, a good amount of ammo for a sniper rifle, an a night-vision mode that lets you watch as the blood gushes from their heads as they fall over, dead before they even know it. Morbid. 9.2 of 10.
Secondary weapon: M60 machine gun with scope. The rapid sniping capability is appealing to me. Plus, the greatest sniper of all time (Carlos Hathcock) used the very same thing and hit every one of his targets. 8.9 of 10.
Alternates: any super-powerful rifle, anything you can zoom in with that can hit what you're zooming in on, (laser) cannon, laser weapons, etc.

Explosives
Primary explosives: rocket launcher – the distance it flies makes up for the low ammo, and the damage it deals is incredible. Even with fireproof Iron Man Mark 3 armor on, there's no way you won't at least break something when you get hit. 9.9 of 10.
Secondary weapons: the Big Daddy and the Samaritan. Though the Samaritan isn't really an explosive, and the Big Daddy's weapon class is unknown to me, they both deserve mention here because they both use large enough clips and do enough damage that they can be classified as small, powerful explosives. 9.5 of 10.
Alternates: grenade launcher, plasma grenades, frags, RPGs, etc.

Defensive and Miscellaneous

Base Characters
Primary character: Neo, closely followed by the Sith Apprentice. Neo can fly; dodge bullets; FREEZE bullets; survive, block, or dodge most physical blows; move things at will without touching them; and even bring people back from the dead. The Apprentice has all the Force powers known to the universe, as well as having the option to switch sides. 9.5 and 9.49(99999...)of 10, respectively.
Secondary character: Chuck Norris. 'Nuff said. Closely followed by Master Chief – seven feet tall, trained from a tender age in combat, and genetically altered to be more durable and more powerful than the average human. 15 and 10 of 10, respectively..
Alternates: Alex Mercer (from the game Prototype), Alien (from the movie Alien), Hellboy, Hulk, Jason Vorhees, The Thing (Marvel), The Thing :eek1:(from the movie The Thing), etc.

Co-op Partner Characters
Primary character: Alex Mercer. Having a partner that can gain a new power AND a new form every time he kills a guy is awesome, and keeps the enemy on edge. 9.7 of 10.
Secondary character: Darth Vader – the Dark Lord of the Sith is a powerful enemy, and an even greater ally. His Force powers are strong enough to rival Yoda's, and he's physically imposing as well. 8.9 of 10.
Alternates: Abe Sapien, Chuck Norris, Darth Sidious, Firefly, General Grievous, Master Chief, Mr. Freeze, Yoda, etc.

Vehicles
Primary vehicle: Scorpion tank :D– the all-terrain capabilities of this vehicle combined with the huge gun curved over the back cause it to resemble its namesake. This tank also comes equipped with a minigun, to be used while the big one recharges. 10 of 10!
Secondary vehicle: Grievous' starfighter – the Star Wars series' coolest villain rode in this thing, as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's cool-looking enough you want to fly it, but plausible enough it might actually work one day. 9.1 of 10.
Alternates: Banshee scout flyer, fighter jet, full-size airship with hyperdrive, Ghost scout hover bike, Grievous' wheel bike, (Vader's) Imperial Star Destroyer:spinny:, Pelican infantry transport, Phantom tank transport, Sith Infiltrator, the starship Enterprise, Warthog four-wheel drive, Wraith tank, etc.

Armor/Suits
Primary suit: Iron Monger in Iron Man size, shape, and paintjob – All that power packed into a sleek, non-freeze, heat-proof suit that's cushioned so when you're hit, you aren't harmed by any but the most powerful shots. 9.3 of 10.
Secondary suit: Sith Stalker armor – the armor that turns disciples of the Sith into the most dangerous and feared beings in the galaxy. 4 points for the title, 4 points for the power, and 1 point for the claws, an even 9 of 10.
Alternates: A.P.U., Iron Man Mk. 1-3, Iron Monger, Megas XLR (the Xtra Large Robot), Prototype A.P.U., etc.

Animals (Rides/Pets)
Primary animal: dragon – the most popular and destructive mythological animal on Earth. Riding into battle on this thing means tearing enemies to shreds with the claws and teeth, frying them with the dragon's breath, and blasting things with your guns (or melee weapons, depending on both the size of the beast and your preference). 9.6 of 10.
Secondary animal: Mothra – this thing is indestructible! It is able to fly:yes:, it can cause tornadoes with its wings:yes:, it can shed poisonous yellow dust:yes:, it is incredibly psychic:yes:, it can shoot all sorts of laser beams:yes:, and I think it can reflect Godzilla's atomic ray-breath! But, somehow... it's just not as satisfying as flying into battle at 65 mph with a fire-breathing dragon spewing flames and a minigun in your hands. Sorry, Mothra, but it's a 9.3 of 10 for you.
Pet: griffin – they act like giant catlike birds, they can hunt for themselves, they can breed (so you could theoretically raise one from the egg stage), they can carry you around, and they can withstand poisons and diseases. A solid 9 of 10.
Alternates: basilisks, Cerberus the three-headed dog, Fluffy the three-headed dog, (Mecha)Godzilla, hippogriffs, (Mecha) (King) Ghidorah, (Fire) Rodan, the Balrog >:D , etc.

Possible Game Setups
My setup: Master Chief (main character), Alex Mercer (co-op partner), three-clawed gloves (close combat), lightsaber (mid-short ranged combat), minigun and Force lightning (medium ranged combat), M60 machine gun with zooming capability (mid-long ranged combat), Halo sniper rifle (long ranged combat), an Iron Monger/Iron Man hybrid suit (mentioned above) for Alex Mercer (Master Chief already has a suit), Vader's Imperial Star Destroyer with a fleet each of Banshees and TIE fighters (vehicles), the Balrog (my ride).

Accessories
All accessories: biker bars on the Warthog, hot rod flames on Megas, wristblasters on the Sith Stalker Armor, a hot rod red paintjob with orange and yellow fire crawling up the legs of my prototype APU, jet black paintjobs with red flames on the back of all of my weapons, camouflage paint on all of my vehicles, laser cannons on my personal banshee, blue and green flames on my Balrog, etc.

There you have it. If you have any additions to make, send them to me.
