Didn't even fit. So, I guess that idea's out.
Let me know how it works on your old laptop.
I'd imagine it's just whatever one's on the motherboard. It's just the S/ATA or whatever it is, the speakers that hook up straight to the motherboard. I'm going to try plugging them into my old laptop and see if they work or not.
Do the speakers work on another computer? And is it USB connection? And are you using an add on audio card or the motherboard's one? I can only assume it's a hardware issue (with the sound card) if all the software is up to date and if the speakers work elsewhere.
Lol fun event after another. Got the computer's motherboard replaced, and the speakers didn't work. Got the parts, still not working. I checked the drivers, and they're up to date. Any idea of what some possible causes could be? Mind you, the headphone and optical audio jacks still work, it's the speakers themselves that aren't doing anything.
Alienware may have something set up in their system that requires users to go through that if they change hard drives to another machine.
Nah, the two laptops have two different SATA-motherboard hookups, so I have only have one in at the moment. And all right, I'll do that. It was just really weird because it works fine in the Alienware.
Are there any other hard drives attached to it? I'd just suggest you go through the recovery and make sure you don't click anything that deletes or overwrites anything. I've switched hard drives between computers and laptops before, never really had that issue unless the hard drive was corrupted or computer crashed and the hard drive didnt' shut down properly.
I know you're not all entirely inclined in laptops, but.. I have to send my Alienware in (faulty motherboard, mistake on the manufacturer's part) and I tried putting the harddrive from that into my old laptop, and it was making me go through a start-up recovery. :/ Is this normal or is there a way to get around it?
Thanks, man.
