  1. Yeah it's fun jamming out, but we'd pick a song and noone but me would learn the parts, then they'd sit there for 2 hours trying to learn it where we coulda been playing it, gaahh lol.

Haven't actually been playing anything lately! Been too busy with work and schooling. What about you?
  2. Sweet! Haha

I wish i knew some other musicians locally!! Seriously though, I play and one friend plays and she never wants to play with... that was going to sound terribly wrong. Let me rephrase, and she never seems to want to have a jam session. *shrug* So y'know. You should get with the people you know and just have a good old fashioned jam!

Okay, I'll do that, thanks! That's sad he took his life...

So what have you been up to lately? Played anything awesome?
  3. Yeah the US strats are expensive as hell. I bought a Squier strat for like $300 a few years ago, all it really needs is a couple pick ups lol. So that's a good alternative.

There's quite a few people my age who play all kinds of instruments, kinda wish we woulda got our band up and running, but whatever. Still had fun just hanging out too.

Country is fun to play! If you learn complicated up. Look up "Danny Gatton's licks and tricks" on YouTube, I've tried learning a couple here and there cause you can work them in to lots of southern-rock and country crap. He's this unheard of amazing country guitarist, hit fame overnight. Killed himself though cause of the stress but yea check those out, definitely think country is fun after that lol.
  4. Oh, yeah! They're definitely legit. They're actually the more commonly sold Strats in the USA. Assuming you don't have mass amounts of money to spend on an American made one. haha

Ay, same way, haha. Except I do play some arpeggio/fingerstyle. Not very well though... Lucky! I don't know anyone else who plays really... Except people my age who don't really play well either. haha

Styles: rock, acoustic/folk, A LITTLE country, (I mostly hate country though.) and pop music. I sing while I play so I'm "that" kinda' player...
  5. Ouch, Mexi strat. Are those ones genuine? I thought just the USA, Jap and Korean ones were legit :S oh well could be wrong. Doesn't matter though, played a fake rip-off SG made in like Taiwan that still sounded the same lol.

I play the plain way, just a pick on the right hand and trying to fly on the fretboard in the other :P starting to use my fingers to pick a bit here and there for country. My gf's dad was a professional musician for like 20 years so picking up things from him. What about you? And what styles of music?
  6. Yeah, same here. haha February '06. Got a Harmony acoustic. (it sucked balls) then upgraded to a Yamaha Jumbo Acoustic. Sold it cause it was too big for my younger teenage self to handle, lol, then got a regular sized Yamaha Acoustic FG series which I still have and the electric is a genu-ine Fender Stratocaster... Mexican made, though. -__-

Anywho, what kinda' playing do you do? AKA Fingerstyle or classical or what?
  7. Wow that's weird, I'm the same way as you, really lol. Get into stints every few months. Been playing on and off since winter of '06 as well actually. Got 3 guitars, my Squier Strat my Jackson V and my George Washburn acoustic. Just play when I feel like it, and I like that
  8. Haha, yeah, it's only two though.

I've been playing on and off since '06. I'm terrible to be quite honest.... -__- I just won't ever stick with it so I never get any better at it, y'know? Do you play?
  9. Just slowly realizing all the guitars in that post your room thread :P

How long have you been playing for?
