Scarier? Doom 3 and F.E.A.R

I haven't posted here in forever.
Alright, so I just started playing Doom 3, and I've played some of F.E.A.R... The choice should be obvious but I'd like to hear other opinions on the matter. For me... Fear was practically a horror game, and then an action game, then they combined and I was like "I can't take this anymore." And bailed. Doom 3 seems like it's trying to hard, and only made me jump when a piece of metal fell off the wall... And it's boring as crap. (Freaking spiders...)
Opinions? Feedback? Waffles?:spinny:

I think fear 2 is the scariest I don't know why that girl/thing is just scary!

I actually thought Alma was cool. :laugh:

FEAR is only mildly scary. I haven't played doom 3, but i played the first one as a kid and it was only sorta scary (but it was a whole lotta good)

if you want a truly scary game, look at some of the ps1 and ps2 horror games

Hello, im just new here :) anyway, i kind of agree with this one, the Silent Hill series are just the best ones for me. I guess it's also because it rarely had background music too (if none at all). The game just gives you this creepy feeling :)

The Resident Evil and the Fatal Frame series are good too :)

and when it did have background music it was like relaxing. akira yamaoka is a genious

Fear is the scarier 4 me... dont like that lil girl..

that being said, i'm sure fear is scarier. i haven't played doom 3, but it doesn't look that scary (maybe jumpy but not scary) whereas fear has a feeling of unease at times (most of the time it's just a lot of shooting) which i find scarier than jump shocks

F.E.A.R is hands down much scarier. Doom 3 didn't really give me any jumping moments in comparison to F.E.A.R. The corridor of blood that you have to walk down as you hear the faint voice of something that you know is just pure evil was great. On top of that random hallucinations thought out the game

Doom 3 is crap, IMO. It's really boring at most all points and it's attempts at scaring me failed so bad that an 8-year-old didn't bat an eye. (Believe me, my cousin watched me play it.)
FEAR, I need to replay, as I never beat it, mostly due to the fact that once the shooting parts and the scary parts merged together I was like, "I can't do this anymore. X.X"
I'm also hearing that not very many ppl like Alma. :laugh:
She's actually the least scary part for me, mostly it was just those flashing dead bodies on the screen that got me.

The first one's a classic, I play DOOM 2 all the time. It's not really scary, to me at least, I always thought of it as a staple in VG history rather than a scary game. :laugh:
And yes, the actual survival horror games are scarier... But that's obvious.
