    Gamers-Forum IRC Chatroom!
    Hello Gamers!

Gamers-Forum.com has an IRC chat room for everyone that wants to come by and chat. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat - its quite simple to use and is much like instant messaging.

If you already know how to connect to an IRC channel here are the details:

    Server: irc.gamesurge.net
    Channel: #gamers-forum

    --------------------------------------

    Method #1 - Without Download & quickest
Go to the Mibbit Webchat client and enter your gamers-forum name when prompted. This will automatically connect you to the right channel and the right server.

Method #2 - By Downloading a standalone client
XCHAT is most members' IRC client of choice; you can download it here: XChat: Multiplatform Chat Program. After downloading open it and in the text field enter /server irc.gamesurge.net then enter /join #gamers-forum

everyone in the chatroom! I hope to see you all in there :)

I personally recommend mIRC as an IRC client, but I mean, to each their own ;)
EDIT: nevermind, Trillian has an IRC component. Trillian forever!
EDIT: I don't use Trillian anymore - Digsby ftw! Back to mIRC for me...
EDIT: I tried XChat and it's awesome and I'm off of mIRC now. I use that for windows and the IRC component of Adium for mac

People can also have a look at this thread here: Gamers Forum IRC Channel #Gamers-Forum - Gamers Forum

Years old but most of the stuff still sticks, minus the channel bots.

I was poking around and found this site - it's very helpful for a quick intro into IRC if the subject seems baffling to you, from everything to a quick understanding of how it works, what you can do with it, and suggested clients to use:

    Hope this helps people!
