Yeah as the title suggests, I plan to do this for... my coming of age thing. most guys repair cars. but me, I plan to make my dream gaming PC so.... I know I need

    1. A case
    2. 3 Fans
    3. CPU
    4 Sound and graphic cards
    5. A monitor

An I missing anything? And can someone give me a few tips on putting it together ?

What you need are the following:

    - CPU
    - Motherboard
    - RAM
    - Case
    - Power Suppy
    - CD Drive
    - Hard Drive
    - Graphics card

    These are the optional stuff:

    - Sound card (something probably comes with the motherboard and with a USB Headset, this doesn't even matter)
    - Extra Fans
    - CPU Fan/Heatsink
    - Monitor (you could easily use your old monitor)

I have a series of videos where I show you how to build a PC if you've never done so yourself: Build Your Own PC - 5 parts

    Good luck!

Good luck man, if you have any questions about compatibility be sure to ask us :]

On-board audio is good enough these days that it's unlikely you'll here much of a difference, so I wouldn't bother with a sound card.

Also, don't take this the wrong way. He means aftermarket coolers. Your CPU will come with a heatsink, definitely make sure you put that on :P
