Lawmaker Says Rape Can't Cause Pregnancy

I read this some time ago and I was actually chocked that he actually meant it.

"Republican Representative Henry Aldridge made the remarks to the House Appropriations Committee as it debated a proposal to eliminate a state abortion fund for poor women."

"The facts show that people who are raped -- who are truly raped -- the juices don't flow, the body functions don't work and they don't get pregnant," said Aldridge, a 71-year-old periodontist. "Medical authorities agree that this is a rarity, if ever."

Even worse is that many of these people got lots of power and high positions.

Yea, it's really sad. The things people believe boggle my mind. What I find funny about the whole is that the same people that say "you can't get pregnant from rape" are the same people that would be against you having an abortion if you did get pregnant from rape.

That article is from 1995, but the same situation actually came up a few weeks ago. Forgot who it was.

And Congressman Steve King also said that it isn't illegal for a man to rape a 13 year old girl and drag her across the border to get an abortion.
