Advertising in games

Hey everyone. This is the first time I've posted here but I thought you all seemed quite friendly so I thought, why not? :) Anyway, for my course at College, I am looking at advertising within games, specifically in-game adverts.

What I would like to know is:
Have you seen any in-game advertising and which game was it in?
Was the advert for another game or for a different brand?
What form did the advert take? (Was it a billboard, a can of drink etc)
What are your general feelings towards in-game advertising and do you agree or disagree with it?

Please let me know what you think in regard to this topic. I hope that doesn't sound too pushy but it would really help me. Thanks in advance.

I heard that Guitar Hero 3 has a lot of in game advertising. I'm not sure in what forms though, since I dont like that game. Also some racing games have in game advertising. Metal Gear Solid 2 advertises some of Kojima's other games (mostly Zone of the Enders)

It was for the show, "Monsters"
A Poster in a room
I thought it was clever, it's something you don't notice unless you are playing for a second time.

cs has a lot of them all over, mostly for the armed forces lol, doesn't affect my feelings or thoughts in any way though - all including text and billboards in game

I wouldn't be surprised is GTA had billboard advertisements throughout the game.
I haven't really experienced any myself, or I don't think I have.

Well I don't really recall which games have but I'll give you my opinion on it, if it's well done I'll be down for it..like Ad's in GTA or sandbox games. I will not tolerate advertising in games where they have no place..such as RPG's. I also think if there going to collect advertising money they should lower games prices. I started gaming seriously in the PS1 era and really started paying attention to the cost of games then cause I started getting money and every gen the price has gone up, now 60 bucks a game It's starting to get a little ridiculous..sure PS3/360 games are worth the 10 buck increase. Now that the gaming industry is setting all time records..I think it'd be only fair that if they were to advertise that they should give a little thanks to the ppl that are making them millions and give them a price break on games.

i think i was playing ghost recon advanced warfare one and it seen a few ads for axe. in was all billboards.

Just like Jjjet said I seen advertising in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and it said Gamer Forum or something like that and on Burnout they have some billboards for other EA games.
