Elite still has problems but from what I've heard it's no where near as bad launch premium units ect, If your truly want the best system that will least likely RROD....wait for the Jasper chipset this fall, it's even better than the falcon chipsets that have been pretty good so far in terms of fail.

Someone told me that the day after they bought their elite they got RROD... I dunno if it's true or not. And yeah I've heard that it doesn't have as many problems.

It's possible. Not as frequent as other models. But it's possible.

there's a complex answer but a simple answer is that it heats too much and cause the motherboard to move as the flux melts(pretty sure anyways) as for repair I don't know about easy to by yourself but all you do is call microsoft and they send you a box to give to them under the 3 yr RROD policy and they send it back fixed.

an easy sum up of your question

DOes the xbox 360 elite get red ring of death?

Yes they all can get it.

just make sure you get warrenty.

though I've had my elite for quite a while now and have had no problems with it.

    Hope I helped.

The Elite does get it less, but of course it can still get it. Hawk is right, get the warranty. I've heard many "horror" stories of 360's breaking down. And then i've read stories where people's 360's broke down and they had warranty and they were happy beyond belief.
