Buying a New Computer

Hey All!

I am looking to buy a new PC for gaming and design somewhere from 0-650 Need as much space as I can get! got any ideas?

Had a idea of getting this and adding another HD Walmart.com: iBuypower Gamer 501-WN Desktop PC with AMD 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5000+: Computers

That's not to bad. The graphics card and processor are not that great. Just depends on what type of games you plan on playing. With that G card, you won't be able to play any of the new games that have good graphics. a x1250 won't even play Call of Duty 4.

i agree with trunks, at that price, you can get a better cpu, hard drive, and gpu - the only thing I like is the case lol - i could spec some parts for you later if i have time to tell u if ur saving or getting screwed out of ur money

I personally think it is best to go to a good PC store and have them custom build you a PC and tell them you want it for gaming. That is what I'm doing and I'm getting a top notch build for just over $2000 AUD(including screen, keyboard and mouse)

its not great to have a huge store custom build it, they could be overpricing lol - i built a great gaming computer just a few months ago for about a $1000 with a monitor and a mouse (had a keyboard)

keyboard + mouse = cheap so doesn't matter

I didn't sped much more mine either. I got 3.4 duo core cpu and soon a 8800 GT g card. Along with other things such as g15 keyboard and g5 mouse. I only spent maybe 800 on mine. That's all from ebay and amzaon though. Only the keyboard and mouse were new. I'm not sure if I'm getting the g card new or not yet.

The only way you can get exactly what you want is to custom build.
My brother and I have built 4 computers, all of them amazing and each with different prices.

It's not really a big store it's not a huge franchise or anything its just one store with one owner and they're pretty good. I don't think they are a rip off.

i was merely adding to yours lol, you said to go to a good store and i said not to go to a huge store :)

my friend the other day went to Best Buy to get his laptop fixed, they said he needed a new motherboard which would cost him a $1000 for the motherboard and an extra $200 or so for installation...

i looked it up for him on the web, the mobo would cost him $500 and i could have installed it for him for free lol

Best Buy's Geek Squad = crap - thus big store custom computers = crap

Hahah wow, luckily we don't have best buy in Australia(I don't think so anyway) some people like to rip off their customers so much, like a few years ago our old PC got a virus, and we took it to this major PC store to fix it. It ended up costing $300 just for them to do a basic re-installation of Windows XP.
