It might be nice if you added links to the games (like a wikipedia page or something) for people who are unfamiliar with them, unless you feel like that is too much work for you :P

A nice list so far; I will have to pick my brain for ones that are missing. Can't think of them right now @_@

    i'll add .hack though.

Ummm, I don't see how Assassins Creed doesn't fit the bill of an RPG? You assume the role of a fictional character, what else is there?

I would class it as a near-sandbox, action adventure game. It's a bit too different from general RPG games, to be an RPG game.

Final Fantasy XIII. 8 hours in, and I love it. It's also has some of the best graphics available right now.

Borderlands. Beat it 2 times, I love the game and the original graphics.

Flab-Ender, it's more of a Action Platformer, just like Uncharted. You do take a role as a player, but there are no attributes to level up and expand on. You can't have allies in a sense, and there just are a lot of things missing. If it counted, most games would.

Well Kingdom Hearts is about as close to an RPG as Assassins Creed. And I would consider it near-sandbox.

Yes but in Kingdom Hearts, you have allies, you can level up, with attributes going up as well. You don't pick them, but it is the same idea. You also can choose equipment with plenty of options.

You can do almost the exact same thing in Assassins Creed Brotherhood.
