You can't get it any cheaper than the website, which is about $20 o-o You can play the free demo, though, to see if you're interested. :)

Well the demo is the full singleplayer. you just can't share with friends. :D

Well, yeah, he can't play with people and there's a time limit, but it demonstrates the game mechanic and whether he'd like it or not :P
