yeah, i might wait until july actually because vb has been disappointing me lately with all the bugs and stuff, hopefully they bring out 3.7.2 by then and get rid of the patch levels

vBulletin yesterday announced that their Patch Level 1 (PL1) version of 3.7.1 had a huge security bug costing some people their forum because they were hacked and raped.
Yesterday vBulletin announced vBulletin 3.7.1 PL2 which supposedly takes care of the Second Security bug that PL1 SUPPOSEDLY Fixed.
I will not be upgrading to that any time soon until they figure out whey there are so many security bugs and why my admin panel keeps on refreshing by itself.
Really disappointing because just a few weeks ago , vbulletin increased the prices for both owned and leased licenses about 20% if I am not mistaken.

Holy moly.
How can they release updates like that if there not sure if it even works or not?
That's way too much risk, especially if your paying for their program.
They shouldn't be releasing it until they know it works.
Buttheads.

lol a 20% price increase? that sucks, so do you have to pay more? i know its a yearly renewal so i dont know when you got your license
-
i dont have to pay it now, i renewed my license a month before they put the whole increase in renewal license in effect lol - i had to so it wasn't like i did it just to escape the extra fees - my license was about to expires

As I had predicted, vBulletin 3.7.2 was released earlier today promising to fix all bugs and as always, I am not about to upgrade, not yet at least. I still have to give it a week or two to make sure everything is fine without any complaints because the last thing I want is more trouble.
Now vBulletin requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later versions in order to work properly. It may not work at all if your server is not upgraded properly in the PHP and MySQL Area.
More files have also been added to 3.7.2 to make it a bit more secure and more bug free (as they claim)
-
I'd like to see that, lol.
Is it even worth doing all these little upgrades?
I mean, can't we just wait for the next big release?

like 3.8? Sure, but those come out like once a year lol
and these little updates help when it comes to fixing glitches and making new modifications work

vb 3.7.2 turns out to be a stable install, so far, no complaints of forums being hacked and no bugs were detected yet
one bug was with registration but only one person reported it
i may try a test install on my pc this coming weekend and let you guys know how it turns out, if everything goes fine, the upgrade will take place on this live forum within a few days
