Taking this a step further, all profile posts made by new users are moderated, it seems some people are still stupid enough to go around advertising there. Makes me sick. So all new users will have to suffer for the little group of idiots on the internet that cannot read.
If you think I'm talking to you, you do not belong on Gamers Forum. Have to learn to read rules before you expect any respect.

Yep, someone sent me an advertisement as a profile message a couple days ago.
It seems like spam went up from before. I don't remember seeing as many threads that just have the "No Links allowed...." in it.

it spikes during the christmas season lol, same thing happened last year and I was moderating posts last year as well, probably going to have to wait for mid January to turn it off - its ridiculous, people are using the holidays to make money by breaking rules, that's pathetic as well

If vB allows you too, you should make it so if someone uses a link when there post count is to low, it automatically gives them an infraction and deletes the post. Along with sending them a private message about it. My guess is you would probably need to make it from scratch. I don't know of any script that does that.

no mod exists for that - its kinda complicated, it notices the post as spam, infracts the user, and deletes the post AND THEN sends a PM, that's a major modification lol, I'm not sure if people want to touch it cuz if anything goes wrong, they all stop working, posting, infraction system, and even pm
and I am no good at making things from scratch for vB, especially Mods, they are usually written in XML - i mean, I haven't even completed a good template yet lol...but i may go into vb modifications in the future - i just never really looked too much into it

I never messed with vB a lot, so I can't help you lol. You already have the part where it notices the post as spam, you would just have to add on the other 3 things. It would be handy to have, could probably sell it to other forums if it was made well enough.

lol yeah...sell licenses lol, Super Spam Blocking Thingamajig - would be nice
but it is still very complicated, I am just happy vB has moderation system built in, I am going to look for a few more member management and spam stopping mods after my finals...and see if they can help over the break
