Very solid list! I've tried a lot of the ones on there. Now, whether I've finished them is an entirely different story.

Was anyone else let down by Fable III? It just didn't do it for me. Oh well, can't complain because I loved Fable and Fable II so much. Fabulous list for the most part. I'm glad there are people out there who still play Pokemon Yellow/Red/Blue. Those are my childhood. Found my old Gameboy Color the other day and I've been running around with Pikachu being a badass.

how about the Fire Emblem series? I strongly recommend Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (GBA) and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii). I also support Final Fantasy XIII-2. The gameplay's better than its prequel although the story is much shorter.

Where's FF IX in that list? It was also an awesome RPG game!

I had fun and would recommend Final Fantasy 12. Borderlands 2 has been pretty good so far also. The DS version of Final Fantasy 4 may be better than the
snes original Imo. The translation and little cut scenes are more...entertaining I think.

Thanks for the list. Very useful advice!

I added some links in the first post to help people decide whether a game is an RPG or not. Also, I added a few more games.

Had no idea system shock 2 was an RPG type. I thought it was like doom, might have to play it, bought it on steam at some point.

It's a horror shooter like doom, but there are classes and skills you level up. It's not a full-blown RPG, though, so that's why I put it under RPG elements.
It's fantastic though, highly recommended.
