This is pretty much spot on. I still remember the pain of getting all golds in that game, being in first place and getting hit by 3~6 blue shells in a single race...

Agree with this as well. Would be awesome if you could turn off specific items only, but it's all or nothing IIRC.

I'm not much a fan of the series in general though, really.

I LOVE MARIO KART OMGZ... lol seriously...

It is the best game I've played in terms of racing for just the fun of it :) .. usually I play as toad.

Mario Kart never gets old... ah, brings back fond memories :)

I am also a Mario Kart Fan and my favorite one is by far Mario Kart: Double Dash.

Mario Kart Wii is messed up for me because of two things:
No really creative new maps
The Cloud as Suicide Item

Mario Kart 64 had a HUGE AI problem, it doesn't matter how good you are, it doesn't matter how fast you are, the bots will ALWAYS catch up with you at 100cc/150cc.

I love racing games and it was second game I bought for my Wii, bought a Zelda game first:cheesy:

Ahhh! I LOVE MARIO KART!! :D Sorry for spamming an old thread...haha But seriously. They've all been amazing!!!! ..except Wii. It wasn't so grand. :\ Hoping the new one for 3DS will be awesome though!

The Mario Kart on Gamecube was my favorite. I prolly have about a grand total of 10 hours invested in playing Mario Kart games, but every minute of it was a blast. I also was playing with rival family members, added motivation to win.

But as the thread indicates, Mario Kart is not a game that you could garnish bragging rights from.

I love MK when playing against other people, but just racing against the computer gets boring
