PS3- poorly made?

i have been hearing rumors that playstion took shortcuts on parts for the ps3 giving it small memory and terrible parts but insanely good graphix. If anybody knows anything about this that is true info please tell me so i can see if iam spreding the wrong rumors

i thikn they did that to get the console out quickly because the wii and the 360 were alerady out. they also used expensive parts and thats why it was so expensive when it first came out. i heard that rumor too lol, you're not alone

The Wii came out AFTER the PS3...

Anyways, it would seem like my 60GB is very well made. And the older PS3's...Sony lost money for each one made. The newer ones are probably crap though.

And 60/80GB isn't small memory...unless you mean memory like RAM.

i also heard they made a another ps3 version with 80g of memony instead of the oringinal 30g.....thanks for your reply:-)

Well, there's the original 20GB and 60GB, which cost way over their shelf prices to develop. Then they took out all of the PS2 hardware to make the 80GB. Then they took out 2 USB ports, all ps2 compatability, and something else for the 40GB. But on the plus side, the 40GB runs WAY cooler than the 20, 60, and 80. Now they're making an 80GB with the exact same features as the 40GB.

So the PS3 went from good and expensive to not so good and still somewhat expensive.

The PS3 is a tank, you'll have no worries about it breaking down.

I have played on my mates 20G PS3 and its nothing different to the speed of my xbox360.
