What kind of sig do YOU want to make?

Hey everyone :3

So, there's a SotW topic suggestion board in the graphic staff section, but I wanted to know what topics you all would like to see in future SotW contests :)

Is there anything you're just itching to try, or something you'd love to see your peers work with? Can't guarantee your topic will get picked for one of them, but let's see what you've got!

Howabout a food-based SOTW?

Actually, what would be nice ( and still I'm not sure if you do this) is if you have one topic for SOTW and then the winner would have to say what the next topic would be.

I like the idea of an animated contest o.o Gifs aren't that hard to make... and people who enter the SotW are generally fairly graphics savvy.

Food would be nice too XD

I'm not sure about having the winner pick the next one... it's a good idea, but I am somewhat hesitant. I'll talk and see what the other mods think.

You can make some great sigs with some action-shots.

Maybe something from racing.

We should have some "truly" anonymous SOTWs. We have held anonymous competitions in the past but we've seen certain sig makers reveal their sig. We need to make a way of people voting based solely on what they think is the best sig, not what member they like the most.

Once SOTW is done, the host can then release the participants names.

Needless to say, I think this would be really fun!

I did speak to her, but not about this.

Yeah, we're all on some psychic wavelength - I've been wanting to do this ever since we had some upset over people possibly voting based on popularity over content (which I am not sure is ever really the case).

I definitely think we should do this :)

We should make the next few SOTWs anonymous ones along with the themes mentioned in this thread.

Truely anonymous would be great, it's hard though because people have a certain style of signatures. But without a name is about as close as it can get.

I still believe SOTW is a popularity contest. I've thought this since like....SOTW 60 or something.


I think Robots would be a cool signature theme.
Or Zombies.

Horror, or MS Paint Signatures.
Sometimes things like "Movies" or "Video Games" get boring.

I vote for zombies...

Vertical Sigs are always fun to give a go..
though they can be page stretchers..

Yeah, but I think we could handle it for one SotW p: I've been interested in trying one, but never done it... it might be fun

I'd like to take a crack at another anime one I've been watching this one anime called Initial D on Netflix and I'm dying to make a sig after it.

Can we be mildly profanic(?) !? Like not nudity or anything, just lightly clothed women/men would be great.

Most of the sigs involving females are usually scantily clad... XD

As long as it's appropriate, it's not against the rules. We had a "Video Game Vixen" contest, once, and well... most video game/anime girls tend to... not wear much :/

What about a World War II theme? :)
It could be any country in the Allies or Axis side of the War, in a theatre of war of your choice; Eastern Front, Western Front, The Pacific.. etc.. I think it would be quite cool :)

I suppose we could... might wanna broaden it out to a Historical/War theme though, so we can have a bigger variety?

Crystallis you can make an Anime Siggy for the current contest, it's freestyle.

We have definitely had anime before, but it's always popular so I'm sure it'll show up again ;3

but yeah, you could put some anime in for the freestyle contest :3 or any theme you are interested in

Sprite's would be nice. =]

It's always interesting when someone is presented with a sprite because of the size / quality and what not. It usually turns out fun for me...Idk about everyone else though.

I like the idea of a MS paint style sig, using only paint. And maybe refraining to only one font style maybe? You'd be very limited to try and make something cool.

I liked the black and white one, but like a couple of us said, it would have been a lot more interesting to be able to add just one color....

So maybe a B&W with just ONE primary color thrown in.

Retro sigs. I want to see 8 or 16-bit graphics merged with good graphics. Once I get Photoshop down again, I will be making these kind of sigs.

I don't like that idea.
Some new GFXers work really hard on there sigs, I don't vote for who's looks the best solely, but who worked the hardest on theres.

I don't think it would matter... most of us can identify who made it based on their style anyway.

What about a SotW where only the persons who have not won any of the SotWs could enter! Perhaps banning Knibb and Devils and other pros for a week from the competition would shake up some new skills to the table!

Themes: technology, the future, gamers-forum (possibly like a GF banner or how you see your fellow GFers)

Uuh! Oo! I got It! Lets Have a SotW where you have to use your own face/body parts in! You have to take a photo and use it as a part of the sig!
