Soooo I noticed there isn't an obvious NBA thread, unless I am mistaken :)
Who do you all support, if anyone?

I'm a Boston Celtics fan. Big, big follower of Rajon Rondo, awesome PG. Also, Ray Allen, amagad, best three pointer there is, and it will be official when he beats Reggie Miller's three point record against the Lakers tomorrow ;) He only needs to make two more three pointers and he has the record!

Even though I don't support the Bulls, I do admire Derrick Rose's talents, too. He pretty much team carries them out of trouble when needs be. Amazing player, fast too!

    Speak up :)

I haven't followed basketball in ages. Back in High School, I used to try to catch every Pistons game I could. Also liked watching the Spurs play.

Actually saw the Pistons play the Nets and then again Spurs playing the Nets.

Good times. My friends and I were like the only ones not rooting for the home team.

Should start watching again, it's exciting times of late! :D
It's a bit sucky as obviously I live in England, so I only get to see the games when they're on ESPN HD on Sky. Fortunately though, the Bulls were on against the Jazz last night, and Celtics play Lakers tonight on ESPN :D Whoop, lucky me! I do have to stay up until 4/5am though :P But I don't care.

Other times I have to just stream it from somewhere when I can't watch them on tele :/
    Sucks!

I haven't watched a single game this season.

I barely watch TV nowadays anyway. I might watch the playoffs though if good teams are playing. Those are usually exciting.

Allen just broken Reggie Miller's 3-point record! :D Allen is the new 3-point KING!!
Let's go Celtics! Beat LA now!! :D

Such an emotional moment to watch, it's even more special because it was at TD Garden against the Lakers! :D Absolutely fantastic!!

I cannot stand Basketball. Way too many fouls. It seems like every other time they go up the court theres a foul. But if I had to pick a team, it'd have to be the calves...sadly.

    Haha, I seen that!
I was watching the Lakers @ the Knicks, and the game was interrupted to go live to that game :D What an amazing finish!

On the other hand, did anyone see Brown's insane dunk for the Lakers tonight!? It was actually incredible!

The sprite dunk contest is immense. McGee v Griffin has been somethin' else!

    Blake Griffin wins it!!

Holy ****! My Celtics just came back from being 27 down @ Orlando and won the game by 8 points! Inspiring performance by Paul Pierce and young E'Twaun Moore who were the driving force in the effort.

Celtics showing Magic who's in charge twice in one week. I have to add that in both games we were missing Rondo and Ray, too, and still managed to win both. W3 now.

I think Danny Ainge would be a fool to blow up the big 3 this season. They've still got a championship left in them. Keep them all on board and get Dwight Howard in the trade for next season. He's already expressed his desire to play in the Celtics ranks... Doc just showed him what a team with passion and heart can do.

    Did anybody catch it?

Haven't been watching Basketball this year really. I was pumped for it when the season should have started, but the strike made me lose interest I think. I was never really into the NBA though. Play offs are fun to watch, that's about it. I guess I'd be a Miami fan, but in reality, I'm just a Lebron James fan lol, I go where he goes.

That pretty much describes my feelings towards the NFL. I'll follow New England when they're on Sky Sports in the UK, but I won't make a habit of it. NBA and NHL for the win :)

Yeah, LBJ is going to be the best forward and/or player in the league when Kobe eventually retires. But with LBJ being younger than Kobe, he could surpass the black mamba before he retires!

Man.......I don't know about lebron. He disappears in the finals and really can't handle the whole "team" concept. I'm a huge Knicks/OKC/Bulls fan, and I was hoping any of the three could have a chance for the finals. However, the Knicks are horrible despite adding the best scoring threat in the league right now. OKC and Bulls could out-duel the heat in the playoffs, but we will have to see when the time comes. Also, how about Brandon Bass for the celtics? I put him on my fantasy team and he is beasting hard off the bench. I am happy with my choice.

Actually Lebron works great with a team lol, him and his coaches even say that he looks for the pass before the shot. He has over 500 AST each year averaging 7 or 8 per game. Also I wouldn't say he disappears in the finals either, if you look at his stats, he has more PPG in the play offs then he does in regular season.

Lebron is easily one of the best players in the NBA though, the only thing he really doesn't have is a good jump shot, that's what separates him from Koby IMO. Once Lebron gets a good jump shot, he'll be unstoppable. I think that's the reason why the Heat lost last year. Their all star players are bosh, wade and James all who like to drive to the basket or shoot within the paint. If they had a good 3 point shooter who made more then 50% they'd be way better becasue they'd have a good shooter to rely on when they attract the extra defender when driving to the basket.

The problem is, Lebron cost Miami the championship last year. He completely fell apart against dallas, and I doubt it was entirely Dirk's defense. I think
Kobe will still end up with more rings than lebron, and will probably have the better stats in the end. Kobe looks like he still has three-four more years.

EDIT: Plus, if Chicago or LA ends up landing Dwight, they will lock up a championship or two before Miami has a chance.

Bass > Big Baby. What a fantastic trade. I wasn't going to judge the trade at first, but after his first few games he started to make a real big impact off the bench, especially in the last 3 games. He puts in a good shift on defence and gets some vital baskets.

Same goes with Pietrus! Air France was an awesome catch. We have someone who can near consistently sink 3's as well as Allen, from the bench. It's starting to look good for C's now that the team has got some practice in and got used to playing with the newbies to the team.

I'm currently impressed by Avery Bradley too. He's a terrier! His work-rate is awesome, and he's definitely going to be a fantastic asset off the bench to lighten the load on Rondo. Same with E Moore. The silver lining on Rondo's current injury is that Doc has had a chance to throw these players onto the court for some game-time practice for when the play-offs come around.

    Eyes on JaJuan Johnson, too.

Also, my view on LeBron is that he can choke at any point, but more often than not his clutch play is ridiculously good. Him, Wade and Bosh destroyed Celtics in the play-offs last year... especially LBJ.

So he had one bad game in the play offs, which wasn't even bad really, but it makes him disappear in the play offs? lol, haters gonna hate

Actually games 4,5,6 were pretty bad shooting and defense-wise. He kept taking jump shots and his defense was barely there. I'm not hating, just stating facts. People want to crown him new Jordan when he doesn't even have a ring yet. Once he starts winning and consistently being clutch, then he can go in that category.

But yeah, the celtics look pretty good this year after slumping a bit. Rondo is really coming on with his jumpshot and is drawing way more fouls than he normally does with his drives. He is like a mini-westbrook in a way.

I'm still looking for the Pacers and Grizzlies to come on strong by the time this year is up. Randolph has the potential to bully down in the paint really hard. Granger is always a threat from 15+ feet as well. I'm hoping for an intriguing playoffs and wouldn't mind seeing LA making a run for Dwight before the trade deadline.

Also, why didn't the Lakers just give Shannon Brown more playing time instead of letting him slip away? They could use some athleticism on their team, and his jumpshot is really improved.

Maybe bad compared to his usual game he did bad, but not compared to the average player.

Many people complain about rings with lebron, but you have to remember James didn't have a team until last year. He was the only player who could make shots, Michael Jordan had a good team when he was winning championships. Also Jordan was 28 when he got his first ring, lebron is only 26. People like to discuss things they have no idea about ( not just you everyone that dislike james. ) Like I said haters going to hate.

Want stats and actual prove instead of peoples opinions on matters they have no idea what they're talking about, well here you go.

Player------------ Min FGA FG% 3FG% FT% Reb Ast TO Pts USG PER
    Regular LeBron 40.1 20.6 47.9 32.9 74.4 7.1 7.0 3.3 27.7 31.8 26.9
    Regular Jordan 39.0 23.4 51.6 28.2 84.8 6.3 6.0 3.3 32.8 33.8 29.9
Player------------ Min FGA FG% 3FG% FT% Reb Ast TO Pts USG PER
    Playoffs LeBron 43.6 20.8 45.9 32.3 74.9 8.5 7.0 3.6 28.7 32.1 27.0
    Playoffs Jordan 42.5 25.1 50.5 30.4 83.3 6.9 6.7 3.8 35.8 35.5 29.6

Those are stats both from there same age 26, pretty similar if you ask me, not saying he's going to be the next Jordan because he never will. He's Lebron James, it's just the comparing of stats from two top notch players.

Well I'm just saying games 3,4,5 were awful defensively. I think he will eventually get a ring with Miami, especially if they bolster the bench. I think hes a great athlete, just wish people (not you) would stop treating him like hes a legend already. To be honest, I'd love to see them pick up a center with some defense (Chandler, Marc Gasol, Perkins) and win a ring. I really like Wade and think he is underrated in the talks of greatest. What he did for Miami before Bosh and Lebron was amazing.

Anyone else think the trailblazers might actually make some playoff noise this year? I think Roy has lost his tough a bit, but they seem fairly tough.

In other news, my Celtics play Knicks tonight on ESPN. Yea brotha!

Knicks are doing bad this season, they're just 8 for 14 so far. But to be fair, C's only just about got above the 0.500 mark the other day, but still not as bad as the start Knicks have had. I didn't expect it really, because they looked set to be a strong presence in the conference.

At the moment for them, it's Melo or nothing.

Chandler isn't enough to stop the bleeding on defense. They need Baron Davis to step his game up when he comes back. A pure PG would be great for them. I see them making some noise.

Also, I would love for Boston to top everyone and win it all this year. Doc deserves another ring to make the LA/Boston rivalry start up again.
