Ah, I'm, using Painterly Pack 'cause it makes the game run faster as I have a laptop so yeah, plus I don't like the original texture pack :}

Thought I'd share what we've been up to in Minecraft lately... Dili and I started by making a castle, which turned into a kingdom (with much help from exe and saph, of course), and then we decided we'd like to start making two more cities... A dwarven-style city, and an elven-style city.
Lots of pictures, so...
And that's all for now! It's getting pretty awesome, so you guys should come check it out sometime~

What Exe and I built:
The Twin Towers of Balance
-Tower of Doom by Saph(Has lava pouring from it, and looks quite ominous and slightly chaotic)
-Tower of Tranquility by Exe(Has water pouring from it, and looks neat and calming)
The Great Unicorn Wall
-Our greatest project! We started from each side and met behind the castle, but Exe got tired so I fixed alittle tiny bit of the rest, but it was close enough to be called an equally ambitious undertaking :D
The wall is 4 blocks wide, and 10 blocks tall(at the very least, 10 is standard height, in some places I've counted as high as 18+!)
The Lighthouse(Gonna let Exe name it)
-Exes lighthouse which was there probably long before I joined. It is a huge tower standing in the water, with an underwater tunnel of glass(not yet finished). On top of the lighthouse stands a portal to the Netherworld, which has yet to be implemented into multiplayer mode!
Farmland
Exe's Ranch
Saph's Farm
-These are where most of the food comes from within the kingdom! We make sure that everyone always has plenty of food to use so that people aren't dieing from fights due to not being able to heal :) So Exe and I have built 2 cottages with a large plot of land next to it. I grow wheat and sugar cane, and with said wheat and sugar cane, Exe creates cakes, which are then placed in the dining hall underneath the castle! He also farms pork chops, milk, eggs, etc. from his ranch! They're easy to see on Muffins pictures :)
Exe is also building an underground/and above ground tunnel network which will probably eventually connect all GF members' homes on the server by Minecart!
But as ambitious as Exe and I are, it would look pretty unimpressive without the reason why its all even there. Dili and Muffins Castle Unicorn is really why it's even there. It is by far the most amazing thing, and has become a MASSIVE landmark on the server, it can be seen from FAR FAR away(Trust me I've tried, if you toggle on as far view as possible, you can see it from several hundreds of blocks away before it finally fades into mist!)
But no, between Muffin, Dili, Exe, Synge, ROFL, and ZXD, the castle is no longer just a massive naked castle as it was when I joined. As seen on the picture, it now has towers, a wall, huge underground arena(need pictures of it! Our spleef arena come on!)and much more. It has developped tremendously in very short time :)

Aww, Muffin's cat looks so cute from high up. All great work guys. I didn't even know about the elven and dwarfish kingdoms, lookin great.
I'll have a few to post soon. Almost finished with what's been pullin me away from the SMP server lately :P

If you go to the train station in the castle, you can get to them by going to the far right mine track :) We need to put a sign up I think
Dili's already done some more work on the Dwarven place and it looks awesome!

Accually I played on peaceful. Before you start to rant at me, I can explain. I started at normal and begun digging the lake(it stands on a former lake) but after a long time I got tired and thought that I lost lots of time on the nights so I turned on peaceful to be able to work all the time. It still took very long time.(I mined everything so there is a huge pit(call it the pit of doom) 300 block away)

No rants here on peaceful :p actually didn't know there was such a thing...how do you get peaceful mode? I'd love to be able to build stuff without having to worry about getting an arrow through my chest for it!

Well you just choose it in options. But I dont know if it can be done in mp, as you might know I play in offline mode.

Ooooohhhhh now that explains alot :p Yeah not sure if you can turn monsters off on multiplayer!
On the other hand...I remember on several occasions that a skeleton glitches for me, but everyone else in the game can't see it, yet I see it standing right there :S Maybe this is a hint on that peaceful mode can actually work on multiplayer too, that you simply don't see the monsters, and they don't see you?

Yes, you can, and there are dedicated servers for it... but we specifically chose to use W1CKED's server because he has monsters on. Every other multiplayer server I have played on hasn't had monsters.

Minecraft is a game that costs about $20 and is a majestic sandbox game... Dili wrote a nice review on it and I wrote a tutorial, if you are interested.

I'm just about done. Only like 25% or so of the rescorces used are legit and dug/mined for. I started out mining all of my stone and ****, but by the time I finished the front wall of arches I realized the castle was gonna be crazy huge and it would be stupid not to cheat.. So I downloaded INVedit :P Still took a hell of a long time, I can't imagine the amount of time I would have spent had I mined for all my stone, especially the sandstone.. The bottom floor alone is roughly 7,300 blocks.
Anyway, it's much more impressive actually exploring it in-game but here are the screens ;D

So I said I was gonna be back on the server but I guess I lied (no one was on the last couple times I logged anyway :( ). I started building "Boletarian Palace", level 1-1 in Demon's Souls (full scale) and have been adding to that for the past couple weeks.
Haven't gotten too far. Building the level got me back into DS so I started playing that instead :P As you can see, I have my body back in the second pic, beat Flamelurker first try NG++, I was happyy :D

You mean, can you go through the level in minecraft just as you would in Demon's Souls? Yup, I still have a long way to go, but so far I've got the entire left side done all the way up to the top of the castle wall (except for King Doran's place). Dunno if you've played the game or not but there are all these makeshift wooden stairs and **** that lead up through the ruin; All that is completed, just gotta add the little details, which I'll do after I finish the rest of the level, if I finish it...

Mine resources, build cool stuff. That's about all xD But it's hard to find what you're looking for a lot of the time, and can take a long time to mine resources. That castle up there ^ is made out of 1x1 sized blocks, that you mine, so you can see mining and placing would take a lot of effort.

All I have right now is my house, with stone walls and a ditch, and a garden. In my house i have an underground tunnel which leads to my mines. and that took a lot of time, so imagine how long roflbryce took .. actually don't its scary :p

Whaddaya mean how long I took? I've yet to do any mega-projects like that xD Or even been able to help for that matter. Your house is one-upping mine, as it's built into a cave with some tunnels for mines lol. Although I'm rather proud of my tree-fort on the GF server :D

Assuming you meant me ( :P ), I used INVedit (gave myself all the materials I needed), so I skipped the mining process. So far, I've probably spent roughly 30 hours on that Demon's Souls level, which averages to almost 2 hours a day, but I was sick last weekend and put in about 15 hours then sooo.

This sounds interesting. Do you need an amazing rig for this or what? All this talk of mining minerals and building stuff makes the screenshot look like an early World of Starcraft...

I've got a half-semi decent not really laptop that runs Minecraft. I can hit 58FPS on WoW, which isn't amazing, but I run Minecraft smoothly.
It could like a World of Starcraft, if you wanted it too. Could build a zerg world in the nether if you wanted....what's the nether? Come play with us and find out ;)

You'd be surprised at how well things are coming together. Sometimes I worry I've scaled something wrong, but the paths always end up connecting where they should.

Hell no, used a world editor to clear that ****. Initially I was going to dig it myself, but then realized just how much space I was going to need.. The floor is a ways below sea level and those towers are still hitting clouds.

did you/are you going to include the side area when you get pure world tendency and fight miralda? and are you gonna do all of world 1 or just 1-1? it'd take a lot longer to do the other areas too but it'd be sick. 1-3 would probably be incredibly annoying

My current goal is just to complete 1-1, including all inaccessible filler buildings, which I plan to make accessible. 1-2 wouldn't be too difficult so that's a definite possibility, but I don't plan on doing 1-3 and 1-4, that'd drive me insane :P
Edit: And yeah, I have a little bit done on the Miralda area, and plan on doing it all.

the only parts of 1-2 i think might be difficult is making the bridge the correct shape, but if you're feeling ambitious i think you should do it, cuz the tower knight area would look pretty epic i think. 1-3 and 1-4 would be retarded, unless you only did the big staircase path instead of all the side areas. that'd be seriously impressive though. of course, ive never played minecraft so i don't know exactly how difficult it actually would be to do any of this haha.

Agreed, the T. Knight area would be sweet. If I'm not completely burnt out after finishing 1-1 I'll do it.

Some parts are hard, some aren't hard at all, others are really simple but time consuming. Like the front wall, wasn't hard but took a while, whereas the parts I posted in the update screens yesterday were a bit more tricky and took more planning.

the only part i think would be difficult would be getting the proportions correct

I have been working on my metro for some time now. I have so far two stations and am now building tunnels to my main central wich all tunnels will go to. The biggest problem now isnt digging tunnels, its having enough iron to make tracks.
I have partly solved the problem that tracks cant really be split in different cunctions but the solution demands more tracks. The solution you might ask? well the main station is one of the solution, with one hub that connects several lines with a few stations in each solves big part of that problem and the solution to the problem of how everyone should be able to travel to the main central is just add more tracks from every station, this however demands so much tracks that I wonder if I ever will be able to mine so much.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at, but you do know you can have an intersection switch via redstone, allowing you to have a track turn to either the right or left to connect to a different rail by pressing a button, right?

I just put a normal track as the corner track. I haven't had problems since doing so :)

When you have a T intersection of rails you can power the rail at the intersection by powering it or the block it is attached to via redstone wire or torch and it will switch between it's two possible positions whether it is powered or unpowered. Through the use of buttons with delays, buttons with RS NOR latches, or a switch you can effectively use it as a controllable intersection.
If you have any more questions or want, I could write up a redstone tutorial on various train station building methods. Drop me a PM or visitor message and I'll do it up in a new thread so that we don't derail this one (pun intended).

Well, cause Minecraft is pretty much all I play nowadays, and Epsilon likes to every once in a while redirect me to this site, here's a few of the things I've been working on... (All done by hand, both for collecting and placing materials. CAUSE THAT'S HOW I ROLL! Though I do play on peaceful...)

Wow, looks like you're hitting the bedrock. Any chance you could make a video tour of what you have so far? Or at least, screenshots of the inside? (such as, the beginning of the level where you have all the wooden platforms)
and at one point, after the dragon's bridge, there's a wooden door that doesn't open...can you make it so that opens?
the part in the bottom left corner of the top picture looks like the area in 1-3 where you kill the first fat minister and get the key ring

You should try hosting a minecraft server with that save as the world and I/others could help you build it! You'd be the mastermind behind it all, of course, but I'd love to be a grunt under your supervision and get to watch it all unfold.

I plan on making a full video tour after I finish, need to get Fraps though, never done any extensive recording so I only have the free version. I'm also thinking about putting the finished map up for download, haven't decided yet.
About the door: I plan to make all inaccessible areas in the game accessible eventually. For now only the main path is my focus. After I finish the 'filler' buildings though, I'll start work on connecting them to the main path. So the castle will actually be significantly larger in what's explorable than in the game.

well, you can get to the other side of the door, you just have to go around. It's right after the bridge with the dragon. It always bugged me that you couldn't go through there.
also, for added challenge, in 2-1 if you look down and to the right while on the bridge, there's a town in the distance. make that accessible :D you probably wouldn't have enough room though...

Dunno, lost track. I've been working on it off and on since May. Lately, I've been trying to put in at least an hour a day cause I really just want to get it done. I'm expecting to be done this month, and I seem to be moving quickly, especially now that I've finished a majority of the places your character (in Demon's Souls) is able to go.

thinkin you're gonna add 1-2 on as well? or are you sick of it now? I'm sure 1-2 would be a lot easier, as it's just a bridge and one big room instead of a whole castle.

I'm not sure, maybe I'll do that instead of trying to make all random buildings accessible. If I end up setting up a server I'll definitely do it.. if I get enough people.
I'm dreading the landscaping, it's probably gonna be really tedious.

Sorry if I post too frequently about this, but I put in almost 10 hours this weekend.. (we're having pretty ****ty weather, don't judge me :P) So time for an update.
If I do set up a server, I guess we'll just end up working on doing 1-2 and possibly 1-3 and 1-4 cause it looks like I'll be finishing 1-1 myself soon..
Most of what I have left is landscaping and detailing.

I'll be happy when I'm done, I've had fun doing it but I'm ready for something else. I'll probably take a break from MC and get into some other games..
