Dragonball/Z/GT/Movie/Game/anything discussion thread

Well here is a thread to discuss anything related to the dragon ball universe, hopefully we will find some more db fans on here :D

So I'll start of the conversation, in what order do you rate the 3 anime series, and why?

1 - Dragonball Z is my favourite series, this is mainly because this is the first one I watched, so naturally I am more attached to this series, plus Mystic Gohan > *

2 - Dragonball is my second favourite, I like the fact that Goku isn't the centre of attention in every episode, and that a lot of characters are stronger than him, it makes everything more interesting. Rather than, "enemy? SS4, take this! Goku wins" :P

3 - Dragonball GT is my least favourite, it has a lot of flaws, though I still like it, I hate Pan and Gohan in GT, and Gohan was always my favourite character, I guess why it's my least favourite, because they ruined my favourite character :(

Dragonball Z Saiyan Saga

Haha I Love the TFS Abridged saga, Guru and Nail are my Fav's so far (Except Vegeta, he is all ways number 1 in my books) :)

Team Four Star are awesome! And I really like Guru and Nail, unfortunately Nail didn't get too much screen time, I would love to have seen him beat the crap out of more of Friezas hench men

Yes sadly, It's almost funny that I cried when Vegeta died in the Buu saga Haha, They should have made it so that Vegeta Saves the day instead of Kakarot for once. I'm still pissed at 'DB Kai' for cutting the Buu Saga out, sure it was getting bad ratings but still if you start something you should finish it Haha :)

Agreed, they should have included the buu saga, I would have liked Vegeta to save the day though. I also wanted Picollo to get controlled by Bibidi instead of Vegeta, would have made a more interesting story, it was typical that Vegeta was the one to be possessed.

You're forgetting that this also stretches out over 2-129381209321 episodes as well :P

I watched DBZ like crazy when I was younger, and GT when it came out. Really want to get back into it, as I never seen what happened to Kid Buu. Always seen the episode BEFORE that one, when it seemed like all was lost. Must...watch..DBZ...

I've seen every episode and Movie and most of the TFS Abridged stuff. Hilarious. My favorite is when Nappa called Chiaotzu a Pokemon and tries to catch him. Still makes me laugh whenever I think about it.

My Favourite has to be the 'Whatcha doing' Episode it makes me laugh so hard when i think of it especially the 'It tells time... and nothing else' 'well yeah that's what a watch does... dumbass' haha :)

I'm pretty sure Vegito or Gogeta could do it in Raging Blast 2 also :D

WHERE DID THE 'I' IN VEGITO COME FROM??? Usually the name of a fusion is the combination of the separate names... if that's true then there should be no 'I' in Vegito... Hmmm

His name is really Vegetto (Vegeta + Kakarotto), but in the funimation dub they changed it to Vegito. I need to play RB2 to check the move list, I was sure Vegito could use it haha

But that wouldnt make sense if Vegito could do it. He has the Final Kamehameha. So if he does that would be wierd.

Well I think the stardust breaker move or what ever it's called is Gogetas exclusive move, and final kamehameha is vegitos exclusive move, I think the rest are shared

I dont know if i should make a new topic for this but, I Have recently started Playing Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Again, and for some reason I cant seem to get 'Kiss of #18' or 'Title [Tenkaichi]' I need at least 10 of each and as I had them, just I cant get them again, does anyone know how to get them more then once?

I never played that one so idk sorry =/

So last night I was flipping through the channels, and saw, Dragonball: Evolution. I can remember the previews for it in theatres a few years ago, and they weren't that grand, but I decided to watch it anyway. It confused the hell outta me and more than a half-hour of it was commercials. XP

I can't remember 100%, however I think it has something to do with them being super saiyan apes if you get me. When they originally transformed they had not become super saiyans, but in GT they were super saiyans. Also if I remember rightly a flash back in the frieza saga shows the original super saiyan in one of vegetas flash backs was a golden ape. I think anyway :x

Evolution was awful, a truly awful attempt on Dragonball. They changed characters and wrecked it. It sucked, just saiyan >.>

It was a disappointment for me, even though I'm not a HUGE fan of DBZ. I wanted to punch the 'King Piccolo' in the movie and scream, "Give me the awesomer one!" XD

Yeah they truly ******ed Dragonball Evolution, and about the golden apes, It does sound right, On another note... if you could choose, what two people would you fuse together? and what would their name be?

Well, what if you fused Bulma and Chi-Chi, made the fusion really 'fat' in size, and call it Bulchi? Like 'bulgy'.

Gohan & Vegeta, I'm not sure on a name though... Goat? Vegan? xD I'm truly not sure

I would fuse, Majin Buu (Super Buu) With Frieza, and I would call him Breez :)

I can't draw very well, especially on the computer. ._.' Bulchi and Titzu would come out mutants if I tried doing them. I'll have to decline your challenge, unless you don't mind them being absolutly horrible. Eh, perhaps I could draw them on paper and take pictures. Though I am looking forward to seeing Briez. ^_^ And Punk looks rather good. I'll want to see what the rest of you come up with if you decide to draw.

On reflection, it appears to be just Piccolo with purple hair and a sword, but Piccolo was less detailed to draw in the torso and leg area, and I got lazy. But nonetheless, every time Ashton Kutcher's show comes on now, I'm going to think of this guy.

I will try Gohan/Vegeta xD I am terrible at drawing though, I may be able to photoshop it though haha

Who is everyones favourite character in the Dragon Ball series?

For me, it has to be Vegita in the Dragon Ball Z Sayan and Namek Sagas. He is such a badass (even though he never wins battles against the big enemies ::-)).

I would probably have to go with Piccolo. I liked Tien too, and he wasn't typically as much of a jerk at Piccolo could be. That whole 'loyalty and virtue' thing I particularly admire.

Goku is probably my favorite, I always went with the strongest when I was a kid. Now I just like the fact that he's so nice about everything, even during a fight to the death.

Goku. Just cause he's the comic relief and can be a bad mofo. Also his hunger makes giggle.

My favourite changes, Future Trunks or Ultimate Gohan

For me it's Gohan, Vegeta, and Trunks.

For me, I would have to say, Majin Vegeta, His inner conflict, even for the few episodes, He was and always will be my favourite

I agree to be honest, Majin Vegeta was a great character, it was nice to get a glimpse of the dark prince once again!

And his full revolution, but I will always cry at his death, Especially when Piccolo says to krillin "For the First time in his life, Vegeta Is fighting for someone other then himself"

Yeah, and think, some people say the Buu arc is bad, it's one of the best sagas for characters and character development. Think about it, Ultimate Gohan, Majin Vegeta, SSJ3 Goku, Fusion, Gotenks, Vegetto, such an awesome saga.

I also disliked the Buu saga just because of how slowly it moved and the characters. I really disliked Buu, he was just an annoying character and I couldn't stand him. I also didn't like Goten or kid Trunks, they were also really annoying. Since they were in 80% of them the Saga It is probably my least favorite. I always thought they should have ended it with the Cell Saga, everything was already resolved. I know the Dragonball Z Kai is ending with the Cell saga, which IMO is a good thing.

But we all know... Kai is Sh** lol

Yeah I mean Dragonball Z isn't just about the fighting, Though that does play a HUGE part in it, But the filler makes DBZ more Realistic, Well as Realistic as an Anime can get Kyahaha, Because I doubt Goku and the Z-Fighters are just going to barely beat a Saiyan invasion then BAM it's straight off to this new Planet Namek, That's way DBZ is Better then Kai. Well for me anyway

Dbz gives me more nostalgia than Kai thats for sure. However Kai is supposedly accurate to the manga, and how toriyama intended it to be

Hey guys, I didn't want to make another topic just for this. and seeing as though it falls into the DB/Z/GT Categories and if there is any DragonBall fans, please let's get this topic into the glory books of this thread lol

SO!

I was chatting with my Girlfriend the other night and we started talking about, what would be (In your opinion) the best thing for the Franchise to do now?

Kinda on the same subject, cartoon network is bringing back toonami, we could be seeing some more DBZ on it, reruns of course. Still DBZ back on Toonami would make my day.

The franchise should finish DBZ Kai (which they are doing) I would say they should do a kai-style overhaul to Dragon Ball, but there isn't enough in the series to take out that would make it worth it. They could just remove a lot of the filler and drawn out parts (drop the bar fight between goku and Giran in the first tournament, shorten the Red Ribbon Army saga, specifically the General Blue saga) and clean up some of the training filler between sagas (most notably the training before the final tournament, which I feel is handled poorly) I don't think it'd be worth it though, honestly.

A new series -could- be cool, but I feel as if the main storyline has run its course, and after GT people won't want a sequel series anyways.

I think the best thing they could do is what they currently are doing, and that's releasing the movie next year. I just hope it's actual movie length, and not typical DBZ movie length (less than an hour)


What else would be cool is if I could find the dragon ball games for DS and Wii.


@trunks: well, Toonami came back, but they don't have the budget to bring DBZ back. I'd rather they showed DBZ Kai personally though. I wish a channel would show Dragon Ball, like Boomerang. that would be perfect.
