"WildStar infuses amazing stylized art with the latest technology to create a stunning visual experience. Set on a wondrous alien world, WildStar delivers a wild and mysterious adventure among the ruins of an advanced civilization - allowing you to play the way you want to play while experiencing an unprecedented level of exploration and discovery!"

Seems like a really nifty little MMO with a lot of different aspects than most MMO's I've seen. They have all sorts of weird stuff like the ability to double jump... jumping and speed races.

Combat: WildStar uses a system of telegraphs for combat, where zones are displayed on the ground, allowing a player to predict attacks of enemies and heals of allies. A player can dodge them by walking out of them, dashing, or jumping above them.

Housing: In WildStar, players can own a sky plot. This plot is a part of land consisting of a house and severals "sockets", each socket can receive different "plugs". Plugs can consist of many different things, such as a crafting bench, a mine, an exploration shaft, etc.

They also have massive 40vs40 PvP... Interesting sounding leveling system (WildStar also uses a system of paths. Upon character creation, players are able to choose between the four paths, in addition to their desired class, however, unlike classes, paths are not restricted to specific races. The paths are loosely based on the Bartle player types. The path the player chooses upon character creation determines what kind of extra content the player enjoys. The four available paths are the Soldier, Explorer, Settler, and Scientist.)

Def want to check this out! You can get free beta keys right now too :)

Yeah I signed up for the beta like a week or two ago but haven't heard back yet. I haven't really looked into it much

I played this at Comic Con and have their T-shirt! They gave me a beta key on a card back then, but I think I lost it, or it's in one of the tote bags I got for free.

The game wasn't my thing though. I played for a couple hours over 3 days. Maybe I need to give it another try but with my lack of free time, I can't seem to expand from League of Legends these days :(

I really like the art style. That's the main reason I want to try it. Well, that and the cool mechanics :)

    Beta WAS SO MUCH FUN!

I can't see myself EVER getting back into a monthly pay-to-play game.... but this game was really fun. I will definitely consider once they go free-to-play, which they inevitably will.

I mean when it comes down to it, Wildstar is still an MMO. So it's going to play similarly to all the others. But there are a lot of unique things in this game that made it appeal to me so much.

First is the art style. It's just... different. I really like it. It's pretty yet cartoony, it's colorful, it's aesthetically pleasing.

The races are all very different. It's not just your generic go-to fantasy MMO races like troll or Orc. They definitely put a lot of thought into lore and races, etc. They range from cute little looking hamster guys to cyborgs.

The classes are also really different and very much not your typical "Mage, Warrior, Rogue" set. Right now I am playing a Spellslinger... which is like a hunter mage. It's freaking awesome. Shoot a gun from one hand and spells from the other. Engineer is really cool too - you make all sorts of bots that do different things. Esper, which are like mind- masters who use mental energy to damage. And then warrior, stalker and medic which I don't know much about.

Then on top of your normal skill tree, you've also got "paths". Path has nothing to do with your class or anything else. It basically just adds another fun element of play to break up the monotony of questing, etc a little bit. You pick one to specialize in (Settler, Explorer, Soldier or Scientist). Basically in each zone you go into there are multiple quests and adventures you can do that relate to your path. You get rewards and stuff for completing them.

This game also has public events where you'll enter a zone and something will be happening. You join in and get rewarded for completed them. This game *also* has something called "challenges" which are like personal world events. You have a challenge log for each area of the game with challenges like "Kill 25 beasts within 2 minutes." You complete the challenge, you get a reward.

I didn't get to try out the PvP, but they have a 40v40 match that I'm dying to try out.

Something else I didn't get to try out was the housing. You get your own chunk of 'land' that you can decorate, do dailies at, have friends visit. Your can even give friends access to your land to do your dailies for you for a part of the reward.

The thing I like most above all else... is that this game is hilarious and is absolutely intended for an older, more mature group of people. There are raunchy jokes, swearing, etc. Even just on their website they have things like "KICK ASS AND TAKE NAMES!" and "WHY SHOULD I GIVE A DAMN ABOUT PATHS? DO I GET STUFF?" :P

So yea :) I'm sure there's more I missed haha But the game is very enjoyable so far.

Welp.... I pre-ordered Wildstar this weekend. Doesn't come out until June, but you get access to beta every weekend.

AND I just found out that Wildstar will have a free-to-play option where you can use in-game to pay your monthly sub fee instead of real cash :D

This is one of my favorite things I've been seeing pop up in games! Hopefully it doesn't require too much grinding for money to get them though. Before Tera went F2P it took a solid 2-4 hours a night (EVERY NIGHT!!) to grind enough cash to buy it in game.

I might just check this out :) If ESO doesn't bomb I'll probably buy it. Everything I've seen about it so far looks super fun.

Same here! I'm sure it will take a bit of effort to get enough gold to pay for a monthly sub. I'd definitely expect at least 1 hour per night, minimum. They can't make it *too* easy, otherwise they'll just lose money. Hell, I'd be happy if I could come up with enough in-game money to pay my sub every other month. Then it would be more like $7.50/mo instead of $15

Haha Well I really can't imagine ESO bombing, ever. Even if the game were complete garbage, there are way more than enough fanboys that will play it regardless just because the words "Elder Scrolls" are on it :P I mean all you have to do is get online and read some of the comments that said fanboys are saying to know it won't bomb. Actually, yesterday I was reading a thread just like that. OP made a post about the most recent (and also last) beta session that was held for ESO 2 weekends ago, saying that they were worried that ESO was going to fail because of the loads of issues still in beta at this point. Some reply gold:

“I, for one, will be playing the game at launch regardless of the bugs (but I really, really hate bugged quests, in case you miss it) and reluctantly, I will just take 50% longer to level my toon.”

“I’m going to play at launch — I’ve preordered the Imperial Edition and scheduled a week vacation. I love TES games, MMO’s are my hobby, and I can’t wait to start. I have recruited others to play TESO, as well. But the author is right. This game is about to launch. In the last beta test, most of my quests ended with a broken spawn or busted instance. For a PvE game based on questing, this is a disaster. Even if some people had much better experiences, a heck of a lot of us ran into nothing but broken mechanics.” And THEN follows that up with, “I expect launch to be a disaster.”

“I’m a huge fan of this game and will stick with it during the rough months after launch. That said, last beta weekend was significantly worse than the one before it.”

“The “current state” (or at least what the majority of new players experienced last weekend) unfortunately turned off some guild members who were on the fence (this includes a few who couldn’t even get the game installed due to errors). I purchased regardless, but it doesn’t mean I’m thrilled with the experience at the moment.”

The thread literally went on like this for NINE pages lol That’s NINE pages of people saying, “Well yea, beta has been terrible since it launched and it still is. I could barely do anything and was miserable, and annoyed playing it… And now it’s less than 2 weeks from release… and things *probably* won’t be fixed by release, or even months after that… But shut up and take my money!!!” So yea, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. xD

Well I will try ESO but I will probably wait until people say its safe(and not fanboys). :)

You def should give it a try if you want to, especially if you liked the ES series of games. :) From what I *could* do when I was in beta (as little as that was), it definitely felt like you were playing one of the ES games, just in an MMO setting. So I can see why people are excited for the game... and I'm sure if launches and it still crazy buggy, they will get it all fixed eventually. But yea, I would personally hold off on any sort of purchase until I know it's running smoothly. :P

I pre-ordered. We got the head start because of that, so we got to start playing yesterday. We played all day. It's absolutely worth it. One of the funnest MMO's I've ever played :) If you join, add me as a friend!

I added you, for anyone else that gets the game, my player name is Synyc (pretty sure you can add via playername)

Played for a few hours today and I'm really enjoying it, my only gripe (nit-pick, really) thus far is that I really dislike the Mordesh sprint animation, seems very sluggish, specifically while in stealth. The Aurin stealth-sprint looks awesome and assassin-y, but I'm not interested in rolling a furry.

Edit: Welp, might seem like a stupid reason but I made a squirrel-fox just because I like the quickness of animations more, combat even feels more fluid. Maybe their short stature will have some advantage in stealthing during PvP (doubtful, I know).

You can add player name, but if you add their email it adds their entire account (versus just one char). Also, character names are server unique, not game unique. Meaning you can have a character with the same name on each server, so if you're on server A and someone on server B adds your name... but someone on server B ALSO has that name... they are adding that other person, not you. At least that's how it worked in beta. No idea if it still works that way. I assumed they'd change that with launch because it was a dumb way to have it set up, but I haven't tried it out yet.

I love the Chua haha And they really do have that benefit in PvP! They are much harder to see in general. I've got a Mechari Engineer and a Draken Spellslinger so far.

I totally made my guild name Call of Chuathulu :P

How's the combat? Do either of you know what level PVP starts at? I'm curious about the "level entirely through PvP" thing.

The combat is awesome. Do you remember Tera how the combat was unique? It wasn't just target and hit a button? Wildstar is the same way in that combat is extremely unique (check this our for more details: Combat - Wildstar Wiki). For example, my Spellslinger’s attacks are almost all multi-target/AoE attacks. Combat also uses “telegraph’s” which are really hard to explain. But the gist is that your attacks/casts/spells crate a telegraph on the ground (showing area that will be affected by your attack), like this:

    http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/..._Telegraph.png
    http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/256863/preview

It makes PvP sooooo much fun. (You can read all about telegraphs and shiz in the link above as well).

PvP starts almost right away at level 6 and you can absolutely level up strictly by PvPing. Carbine actually made the game this way on purpose for the PvP fans. The chick that is the Group Content Design Lead (Adventures, Dungeons, Raids, PvP) for Wildstar said:

"As for leveling up in PvP...in WildStar, we'd like for you to be able to play the way you want. For us, this means that if you want to be able to level your character by slaying player foes instead of AI foes...you can do so. Through Battlegrounds, you will be able to gain experience to level up. You will also be able to attain gear and rewards to help keep you equipped (on par with a PvE leveling experience). So, for us...PvP is not just about being at level cap."

But yea. I love the game so far. The only advice I have for anyone that is considering buying that this game is that it is very, VERY Vanilla WoW. If you’re expecting a game that plays similar to current WoW (aka completely fool-proof and a 5 year old could easily grasp and play it well), you’re going to have a bad time. The game is HARD. There are people wiping on entry level dungeons. Character stats and abilities actually take thought. Dungeons actually require strategy. But that’s one of the reasons I love it so much :)

PS. The guest passes I got with my copy of the game will become available on official launch day (tomorrow). So if anyone wants one, hit me up ^_^

Yeah I saw the action combat. I didn't like it in TERA, but the telegraphs make it seem a hell of a lot more coordinated/tactical which I like.

Try to make it to a dungeon before you pass on it, not everyone is enjoying the questing/leveling aspect of this game. End game looks sooo good though, raids are gonna be insane.

I swear Dominion are like freaking Horde from WoW in PvP: they NEVER win LOL I've played probably about.... 10 or so PvP matches so far? And I have not yet been in a wining game yet. The games aren't even *close*! Exile wins by a landslide every time >.>

Well, Medic is fun as ****. I've played every class except Warrior and Esper. I've loved them all, but as I switched, enjoyed each a little more than the last.
