Individual Console Boards?

Our forum is growing every day and generally I don't like to make child boards unless there are enough threads to fill them already. But Now The Consoles Boards are getting filled with different PS, Xbox, Nintendo console threads and do you guys think it would be good to separate them?

The original console board will exist...It will have separate child categories for the consoles. For example, Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Consoles - and everything that does not fit go into the regular consoles board. It would be a bit more organized but before doing that all, I want to get a few opinions from you guys. What do you think? Good idea? Or leave it as it is?

I think it's a good idea. A lot of forums do that. For example, GamersForums does is and it's very organized.

It doesn't matter that much to me.
It won't affect my ability to find the threads that interest me.
But if it helps organize the forum.. be my guest :]

Yeah it's a good idea. I was on a forum before that was split up like that...and it worked well.

i know you think the forum page is long but it'll be child boards, inside the consoles board itself, so hope you're not getting confused by that

o i understand alright and still think it sucks but it's seems this is going to get done so I guess I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it.

lol...do you find your posts from the boards or from the "unread posts" link in the welcome box? Most regulars tend to use the link from the welcome box and that won't be affected

Yea, I use the unread post button. Much easier to do. If you look the other way, sometimes it messes up and the thread is still lit up.

yes, but that doesn't change the fact that I create a ton of threads and you ppl are pissy whiners when I put in the wrong section.

lol, dont worry about that, the staff moves the threads if its in the wrong section - and it can only be in the wrong thread if its really off topic, like if someone asks about what size wheels your car has in the RPG board - but lets say you posted a Playstation 3 thread in the regular consoles board...that's not really wrong..its just not in the MOST appropriate section but still fits. I haven't seen you too many others post really off topic posts.

yea i think its a pretty good idea, how many child boards are you expecting to have? ps, xbox, and nintendo? or like sega and the older consoles too?

He'll probably do the three main ones and then have an 'Other consoles' board or something.

yeah something like that, OR make it so people can post in the original consoles board if it doesn't fit in the individual ones

i knew i was forgetting something...and it seems the "yes" won the poll - the console boards will be up either tomorrow or the day after

remember linux remember!

definately sounds like a good idea it would really be cool but wouldn't extra boards mean more work for you you would have to monitor even more boards unless your thinking of adding a couple board mods

its not really monitoring boards, its monitoring threads and posts and yeah..we are getting a few more moderators this month :)

Well I doesn't have been online for a while but this should probably become better this way ^^
