Apply to be a Gamers Forum Moderator

Before the Month of August ends, We will have at least two more moderators for Gamers Forum. If you are already a moderator, keep reading because this is for you too.

Over the past few months I’ve gotten at least a dozen messages from people asking if they can be a moderator. I told them to be patient and now is the time. If you want to be a moderator, keep on reading.

There are a few restrictions. If you have less than 50 posts or have not been a member for more than 2 weeks (14 days) you cannot apply. Some people have also been forbidden to apply for any staff positions on the forum, if you know that’s you, do not apply.

Please open your own thread in the Staff Applications Board Located in the Forum Talk Board titled something Similar to: "Moderator Position: USERNAME HERE" with the answers to the questions below.

1. Name - (real name please)
2. Username - (on this forum at the moment)
3. Age -
4. Location - (specify the State if the USA)
5. Email Address - (please post in this fashion: Admin (@) Gamers-forum.com - so the email does NOT become a link. the last thing you want is spambots picking up your email.)
6. How long have you been a member of this forum? (if under 7 days do not apply, wait a week)
7. How many posts do you have now? (if below 50 do NOT apply until you get 50 Posts)
8. Why would you like to be a Moderator here on Gamers Forum?
9. How would you help out the forum if you are chosen?
10. How often will you visit the forum to post and look for spam and delete all spam if necessary?
11. Do you have any experience in a moderator position in any other forums or websites? If yes, please tell me the NAME(s) - do not post a link. – List all previous or current positions from GF here.
12. Why should we pick you over anyone else that applied?
13. Will you get mad if you are not chosen for the position?

For current moderatos, you have the chance to get Super Moderator Status. Just fill out the Above information as well and in the Thread title, Put “Super Mod Position” or something similar so I know who’s applying.

Applications are accepted from now until Friday August 22nd, 2008. All moderators will be notified and announced on Saturday August 23rd. There will be an addition of 2 moderators and one current moderator will be promoted to Super Moderator.

Good luck to everyone. For privacy reasons, only super mods, global mods, and admins can see threads opened by every one in the Staff App board. Since Regular Mods get a chance to apply as well, they will only get to see their own thread until this is all over.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IN THIS THREAD. If you cannot follow rules of this thread, you will not be considered to be a moderator.

and second...people that are immature generally get themselves banned one time or another - you are good...

and if we are done with the personal talk, let's get back on with the mod tryouts

already got about 8 or 9 applications (didn't count properly) - for both spots.

that was yesterday's count - we got a few more apps today lol....good luck to everyone - I read all the applications already - tough choices.

What about having a Global Moderator application? Well good luck with your application thought, trying myself to become active mods like before. :)

they are mods of certain forums

There is only me and Kitty that's Super Moderator in the forum, well hope everyone do they job and going to watch there application. Hmm.. I can wait not need to hurry. :)

they should be now - when we upgraded to 3.7 i had to reset some of the usergroup settings and i had to give game reviewer regular user permissions - it was easier than to set everything all over again piece by piece which would have wasted like 15-20 mins - and then i just edited the simple board posting and access permissions - i must have skipped over the show group option - i barely visit that page lol, i keep tabs on the staff through admin panel

yup, its not fair to just give the position back to them without application while others have to apply

We have gotten well over a dozen entries - Today is the last day for anyone that wants to enter to be considered for a moderator position.

Applications are now Closed! People that apply from here on out will have their application auto rejected.

The new mods will be announced later on tonight in about 19-20 hours :) Final decisions about who gets what position has not yet been made, we will be done by tonight.
