GF End of the Year Prediction
I thought I'd ask an interesting question and see where you guys think we will be post-wise at the end of the year.
Right now we have almost a 109,000 posts and it is nearing the End of August. We have Four full months to get as many posts as we can so where do you think we will be by December 31st?
I predict at least a 150,000 posts, probably more, but can't be less at our rates right now.
Where do you think we will be?

I'm going with 140,000.
I know we'll at least get there with the rate we've been posting at :]

If you'd allow a game thread or a counting thread outside the spam section you could probably rocket past 150,000.

Because if we get more members, our rate will (Should) increase.

a conservative prediction on my part, 150k or 329.68 posts per day. Yes I know this is a downgraded prediction from my insane prediction of 200k before 2009

All posts made in the spammers corner still counts toward the forums over all post count.
It just doesn't add to your personal post count.

we've been averaging 400-500 a day, the lowest for a day in august was 150 i believe. and during the holiday season our activity spikes :D so i am hoping for that once again

I think the point he's trying to get at is that people would post way more than they do in the spammers corner if a thread gave them post count and GFP

Edit: Actually we should reach that if we stay within our average of 400-500 as we'd only need 488.57 to reach 170k

I think that 150,000 sounds about right, at 250 posts a day which is how much he had last year, we would be at 140,000 ish. But since this forum is growing, I'd say we could push it to 150,000-175,000.

When I get home from school, there are around 250 posts. That doesn't include 4-10 plus night posters.

But once, just about everyone is in school, there won't be 200 maybe 100 at the most.

when school opened in 2007 for people our activity spiked sky high, from 6000 posts in August to almost 10,000 in October lol
so during school people just come on to relieve the stress and just talk to people, hoping it happens again :D

I think 200K is pushing it a bit.
We'll probably hit it early next year though.

Linux stats conclude we've been averaging 400-500 posts a day and continue to grow, 150k avg per day for a yr is 410.95, so it's not really shocking.

i'll post august stats in the next few days, it takes a like 24 hours for the thing to gather the data
i went out to dinner after 8:30 pm with my family since its my sister's bday tomorrow, celebrated early because tomorrow is a school nite
i come home after 11pm, i have near 500 unread posts lol - thats with the people trying to be in the top 5 position, so i can tell you, competition worked
over the past 3 days we've gotten about 2000+ posts in total. I can't get you the exact stats for at least another day - so from then, you can make your calculations on where we will be in a few months

well 140k voters are likely going to be auto wrong now, considering Trunks is going to try and beat me to 10k in the race to 10k thread and then his intentions to try and take #1 in the biggest thread attempt all lead to 1 thing tons of posting, if he goes through with what he said this month will be either #1 or #2 all time for posts

we are just over 70 posts away from 120,000 and the one person that actually voted 120k will be frowned upon for the bad guess lol :-P
we are on our way to at least a 150,000 posts so its not time to get bored trunks!
you just need a few more interesting topics to post on, you only seem to post in the same places to get the top 10 poster spots for the month - not a bad thing, but repetitive stuff like that can bore anyone

You shouldn't have put a gillion into the option, unless we just pretend them as a 210k+ category. Either way it shouldn't matter as I'm sure we won't pass 200k in 2008

I'm trying to get an accurate prediction right now, we've averaged about 360 posts per day in September at that rate, with 96 days left in the year, we would make 34,920 posts added to 122,892 we already have makes 157,812. Which is what we are currently on pace to make.
Simply:
360 X 96 = 34,920 + 122,892= 157,812
