1 Post/day to Play Games?
The Arcade gets a good amount of plays a day by members who rarely post. So I wanted to know what you guys think if the option was changed so that if a person wants to play a game they have to make at least 1 post in the past 24 hours to be able to play and save a score.
I actually hadn't noticed that option until a few minutes ago when I was installing a few more games. It never really slipped my mind until now.
Feedback and responses appreciated here.

Well, there are always some negatives. The members that rarely post might leave, or something like that. Or the activity of the arcade might decrease. But then, people who just want to play will post and that'll increase the post count.
I say go for it. ;D
-
Id say yeah go for it. Should have to work to play the arcade, not just simply play it
-
I say do it, get some more activity into the forum.
-
I say post to play.
Get more activity on the forums.
-
Yea, defiantly post to play. Whats the point of having members that only play in the arcade.
-
If any person complains over 1 freaking post and threaten to leaves, I say don't let door hit you in the arse, it's not like your asking for some ridiculous amount. Anything that increases forum activity is a good thing.
-
If that means that my horrible credit won't stop me from playing games, then go for it.
-
You need to start mass posting and get out of debt
-
I'm not exactly a fan of the idea, having said that, I'm not going to whine about it if the rule gets put in ...
-
since more people favor the idea of 1 post a day to play a game, this idea will be put to affect started January 1st, 2009 as a way to kick off the new year.
Thank you for the feedback so far, more would be welcome.

Hi everyone
I've just joined this site and it looks great.
-
I think it's worth a shot.
It could increase the activity in the forum quite a bit.
You could always turn the option off too if it doesn't work out quite how you want.

I think there is some kind of bug with this system, it doesn't do it exactly at midnight and i'm pretty sure it doesn't do it at the same time every night, or is this normal?

its 1 post in the past 24 hours, it doesn't reset at midnight - if you have at least 1 post in the past 24 hours, then you'll be able to play
-
oh I see, that explains so much

Guess I'll go ahead a vote. I say yes. One post a day should be enough to play games. Now half of a post... that's unfair.:twitcy:
-
I Think it sounds fair, but say if you posted loads one day i think it would be fair if you didnt post the next day but could play on the arcade, but their is no point of members who dont post.
-
quick post from me

Its a good rule we have now but will it start making more people post junk?

One posts a day increased the active in Gamers-Forum and yeah that will become fair ;)

you need 10 posts to play - that user doesn't have enough and the user's negative GFP count indicates an infraction - which means...no Arcade play :)
-
I believe it is a good idea! It is just 1 post ! Anyone can do that ! But it has to go along with the topic of course ! Plus it will influence people to post more and more.
-
One post a day could be useful, but it could potentially increase spam as you can see from the ingenious post above me.
-
I was thinking, what if it was more.. a post a week?
I mean, you want people to stay and contribute, but you don't want to be all up in dey facezzzz
YOU KNOW?
-
I think the arcade is cheesy.

Why is that?
@ Lemonrising, a post a day is not hard at all, I don't see why anyone would think it is.
-
It's not /hard/ but it's just..
Seems anal and like we're trying too hard.
-
Just be thankful it's not more, I've been on forums where you needed like 20 posts a day to play the arcade. Although the 1 ppd doesn't seem to have increased overall posting like I thought it would and IIRC was one of main reasons behind actually implementing it maybe that just shows that people really don't care about the arcade anymore. It's been like 1.5 months since my Chopper Challenge offer and not a single person has taken advantage..perhaps because GFP is basically useless

I have no problem with making a post a day, I'm just thinking of new people coming around.
Like, if you posted, would it automatically know you posted that day, or would you have to wait until a set time when the server updates it or something.
If it's like that then I can see it being an annoyance, but if it's automatic then it's not that big of a deal.

it would automatically know, if you are new you can't play until you have 10 posts anyway - no wait time there like the signature and stuff.
you just have to have made at least 1 post in the past 24 hours to have access to play any games, the system registers that automatically.
-
I say go ahead with it. It sounds like a good idea
-
I say go for it
but some people may not stick around but they usually don't end up sticking around anyway..
so i don't think it would make that big of a difference
-
Thread is about 10 months old, it's already been done :)
-
yeh, it's fair for me though, although it's not a good idea
