    Gaming laptop
Hey guys, I just joined the fourm because I need some help on choosing a laptop. As you all know the new Starwars Battlefront 3 is out. What laptop in the $500 CAD range would be able to support this game? I really no nothing about computers, so details will help out a lot. Is windows 7 better then 8 for gaming? Help appreciated!

Personally, I think windows 7 is better, but you're gonna have a tough time finding a gaming laptop for around $500. Gaming laptops are harder to come by because games generally require more CPU and GPU power than most low end laptops can provide.

With that said, Newegg actually has a gaming laptop section. Here is a quick search for them: Gaming, Gaming Laptops, Gaming Laptops, New, $500 - $750, $750 - $1000 - Newegg.com

As you can see, the lower end gaming laptops are around $700. There is a $479 one but that's with MIR and reviews are pretty average.

You can get an external CD drive.

But if you read some of the reviews, that laptop tends to run hot and I'm sure games will make it run even hotter.

About 10 or so years ago, I burned out a laptop because it got too hot, some of the insides melted.
