Well there's your problem. Illegal or pirate copies of music, movies and games tend to be untested and generally a bit of a botch-job. Something's probably corrupted in the files, or not copied...

I choose the hardest difficulty because then, if it's too hard, I can jump down to 'normal' and it seems like a breeze because I'm already used to the most difficult setting! I feel it...

Try a complete un-install, then reinstall the game. Check the disk for scratches, too... even relatively minor disk damage can case some strange problems. :)

They're a nice touch; I'm a sucker for collectibles so if I'm in the right mood I'll spend a while actively trying to get them. I suppose it's just another activity to do; just the same as I might...

I tend to begin on hard, tends to give a fuller experience and then if its too difficult the easier difficulties are a total walk by comparison.

It's a rare thing that a game actually holds my sole interest for three days running, and the storyline aspect did just that. Multiplayer is a nice addition as it is, and slowly improving :)

Whilst the PS3's online is free, I've heard some very bad reviews from friends who actually own the system with regards to the connection dropping out... however, that could always be plain bad luck...
