Best Video Game Songs
My Favs would have to be the halo mjolnir mix from Halo 2 or The Wanderer On The Offensive From Shadow of the Colossus
-
My favourite, is probably the entire Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack!

I don't know exact names but there's alot of songs I liked in the following.
Sephiroth's Theme from FF7 still brings back so many memories.
Beyond good and Evil has some really good music.
Team Fortress 2 has some good songs.
Of course Metal gear solid, has some of the best songs.
And anything from Square enix is bound to have atleast one good song in it.

Game music is awesome and I love every bit of most of it. My favorite would probably be music from the Zelda games though... they're really good.

YouTube - MUSIC: Legend of Dragoon - Royal Castle
YouTube - megaman battle network 3 internet

Nintendo has a bunch of "classic" melodies to play with that win lots of nostalgia points... but my all time favorite and greatest praise goes to Metroid Prime 1's soundtrack... all over the place, it was the songs that gave personality to that game for me. The heavy beat of the magmoor caverns with those rumbling bass voices, or the ethereal higher register piano and synth voices that accompany the magical grandeur of a snowy landscape in the phendrana drifts, or the dirty, fast-paced slash beat electronic thunder that pulls your heart into the rush of an epic boss battle... that whole game was an artistic experience that captured me from the first note and didn't let go until I absolutely couldn't hold off on the bathroom any longer.
A very honorable mention would have to go to Ben Houge's very unconventional approach to the soundtrack for Arcanum, in which all the music is done by a live recorded string quartet. The neo-classical approach he takes to the compositions work surprisingly well and provide a unique and memorable experience and color for Arcanum's steampunk fantasy rpg world.
On a related note, I'm actually really hoping to eventually make music for video games as my career... that's my dream anyway and what I'm putting my college education toward!
Music very frequently makes or breaks a game for me. No joke, all other things considered - graphics, game mechanic, etc - music is so frequently the largest part of the experience for me.
