solution to money (that isn't cheating :P) - the Alchemy skill. Just hang onto all the ingredients you ever find and use them to make as many lowest level pots as you can. Go to the store and buy all the ingredients and turn them into pots and sell them back. This is incredibly profitable XD

Also, when you get to Master of Alchemy it only takes 1 ingredient to make a potion instead of two, so your profit margin like triples because everything becomes a pot that you sell for money. Clear out an alchemy store of ingredients at 2~8 gold per ingredient... sell pots worth ~40gp a piece back XD

Man I put so many hours into this game...

If you're looking to rob places, try the smiths in the towns. Weapons tend to go for enough.

hell, just steal everything from every town XD shops def have higher yield than people's homes, though. I always ended up making most money from the alchemy shop and mage's guildhouse cause of all the alchemy ingredients... mostly cause you can carry so much weight of those ingredients. Alchemy is one of the best weight:gold ratio deals in the game I found, but I digress XD

True, steal everything. I always just nailed the guilds. Being the head of the mages guild is a good way to go too. That magical chest multiplying ingredients left in it. Easy way to make some extra money with high value ones. Well until I joined the thieves guild. Then like Diligence said, steal everything.

Bruma, you are probably there because thats close to your fence. I would recommend the imperial city for large thefts break into stores and re rich houses in the residential areas. Be careful to save before breaking into houses and before you steal from someone, because if you steal from anyone on the waterfront or another member of the guild you get kicked out.

Join the dark brotherhood and get the shrouded hood and body for a large sneak bonus if you want to steal from people while they sleep.

Also, you chance to be detected while pickpocketing goes up with every item. Each piece of gold counts as an item so stealing 40 gold will almost always fail. Its best to ignore gold.
