Can You Help Me! Playstation 2

Hi there,

My Girlfriend is a huge fan of the original "Crash Bandicoot" games.
I am also a fan of the Silent Hill collection.
My question is
"If I buy a Playstation 2, can I play the original playstation 1 games on it"?

I don't recall because of a little confusion related to Playstation 3 I had, but yes, I think they work in Ps2 too. I would try it out right now, but I don't have any Ps1 games anymore

Yes it work! You can play PS1 games on PS2.

yes, the PS2 is backwards compatible with PS1 games. Have fun playing Crash!

All Playstation consoles are able to play PS1 games. Only Playstation 2's and early models of the Playstation 3 (20GB, 60GB, first run of 80GB) can play ps2 games though.

fun fact that you may not know about: If you play a ps1 game on a ps3, you can play it on the psp using remote play.

also, I have a psx with a screen and a car adapter, the playstation is the easiest system to play in a vehicle this way, allowing moe to catch up on FFV and FFVI on those long road trips. =P

also there are some legal downloads for progrmas that will allow you to play original PS1 games right on your PC or laptop. If you are posthing on this forum you should be abel to play any PSx game.

Just for clarification the games you must play if you own a PSx are:

Jade cocoon
FFV remake
FFT
Orge Battle

A Useful tip nobody mentioned is , Yo will need a backwards memory card . A normal ps2 Memory card will not allow you to save your game . However they do play smoothly . Just be sure to get the needed memory card . If you need more info please PM me .
