I really don't think it's worth it. I don't know how people can possibly pay monthly to play a game.

It's no different than buying 2 games in 4 or 5 months though .. if you think about it .. and with more game time.

MMO's are basically regular games on steroids. Much more content on a larger scale. More weapons, spells, abilities, armor, etc. Think Fable multiplied by 203948092345809348603485034852348508. Though, that number seems a tad low.

I play wow. I like it cause there's something for every one And I don't freak out every time an expansion pack comes out. I'm still rocking The Burning Crusade. As others have mentioned, you don't need to get the expansion packs.
All in all, I'd say it's like most people have already said, if you've got the time and a little bit of money it's worth it, but if you don't want to pay, or don't have much time, you're probably better off with something else.

I've gotten up to WoTLK but I've still a large amount of content to get to in BC. I still have elite flying mounts to get, hundreds of quests to go through in Outland, some story material to progress through and of course the experience =P
