Fake anti-virus software

So I was just surfing the internet right now when a program titled something Anit-virus popped up, claiming that my computer at mortal risk, 12 viruses had attempted to access my pc . I decided to look through the list of all the malicious programs that was supposedly plaguing my pc. One of them said "Trojan-fake alert" and of course I was skeptical. I googled this so called program that I didn't recall downloading and found it was scam and a virus itself. I immediately closed it down and had a good laugh and had norton run a scan just to be safe.

So if get some anti-virus software popping up on your computer and it claims you have like 20 twenty viruses (mostly Trojans) just exit out and forget about it.

I get these all the damned time on fishy smelling websites!

I'll be doing my thing and BAM this Windows Anti Virus looking popup springs to life, and does a 3 seconds scan and says like 102 viruses found or something like that, and there's a green flashing button that says "remove viruses now!"

These are of course scams! If you get an anti virus scan popup from your browser that looks nothing like the anti virus you're using(be it avast, norton, bullguard, whatever)then it's quite obviously, a scam, and should just have the X button spammed till it closes

these programs generally are viruses. Be careful on what sites you visit. Clicking on the wrong popup can make you cry.

An important note: Everytime anyone clicks on a popup ad or an ad that claims that your the 1,000th visitor to the site, a puppy commits suicide from so much stupidity in the world. Please.....save the puppies, don't be a tool.

The people who are dumb enough to click the Congrats banners deserve to get trashed by a virus, just so that they can learn that if something that you NEVER remember signing up for sounds way too damned good to be true? It probably bloody is.

A friend's mom had "Vista Security" randomly start showing up on her computer... It looks just like Microsoft Security Suite.... REALLY creepy...
