I prefer Android. I have an HTC Desire HD and I love how much I can customize it. Just a lot more freedom is what I like.

You forgot that there was this little cancer called Symbian among the smartphones.
And the surprisingly good Windows Phones.

But Andriod hands down. Linux based OS - most flexible, most stable, most versatile.
Comes with free google maps GPS. And the widest array of phones runs Android. (not to mention the freely available Android SDK for development of apps and games)

Iphone... I mean c'mon. Sure it looks slick, nice and shiny. It's eyecandy. It's a toy.
Which generation are we on currently? 4? 5? And they probably had generation 8 already planned out the moment they figured how they can milk this cash cow.

It's a matter of taste really, but technically, Android can't be bested as an OS. I'd take almost any Andriod smartphone over an iPhone. Even if I had to pay more.

One reason to switch from iPhone to Android is the Android's robust and unified notification system. Unlike the iPhone, Android has a single notification system that developers can tap into when developing applications. This means that the Android can provide notifications of various things like weather alerts, Facebook notifications, new tweets, and much more. The Android truly excels at keeping up with the flow of information all around you.
