Default 1. Solderless LED sockets make LED lighting installation simpler

A recent announcement made by TE Connectivity introduced a new series of LED solderless sockets that will make installing LED lighting much simpler. These solderless sockets will make it possible for customers to install their LED down lights or other LED products in an easy way without doing extra work to design, manufacture and integrate a complex metal clad printed circuit board assembly into the lighting fixtures.

The solderless LED sockets use poke-in wire termination method for 18 - 22 AWG solid wires, 18 - 20 AWG pre-bonded wires and 18 AWG stranded wires, and standoff posts for proper positioning of socket assembly onto heat sink, therefore, only four M3 or #4 screws are required to secure and complete the assembly and an LED light can be retained in the socket housing with a slight press fit prior to mounting the assembly into the light fixture.
