Default NBA Expected not to have a 2011-2012 Season.

The NBA locked out its players Friday when its collective bargaining agreement expired, becoming the second pro sports league shut down by labor strife.

The labor deal ended at midnight after players and owners failed to reach a new contract. The two sides remained far apart on just about every major issue, from salaries to the salary cap, revenues to revenue sharing.

The long-expected lockout puts the 2011-12 season in jeopardy and comes as the NFL is trying to end its own work stoppage that began in March.

It is believed to be only the second time that two leagues have been shut down simultaneously by labor problems.

This Means NBA Might not have a 2011-2012 Season because of Misunderstandings and Labor Problems.

What's Your Opinion's About this issue?

I will be absolutely gutted if there isn't a season at the end of this year. Gutted. I was so excited to see Celtics again

It's a farce. Why are there these problems in a sport? Because after all it is supposed to be a sport and not a business, for goodness sake.

If this happens then at least I'll still have my Bruins to watch.

man, this ain't good. I love basketball, but I dont know now.. cause like jay said, its a sport, not a business... well, there's gotta be funding for it to be on TV, and funding for it to be arranged, etc. all that... man.... my thoughts on this? I think I'll stick to movies as another alternative to entertainment... since this is going down

If they lock out the NBA season then it just goes to show that this world is FUBAR. Why not let the season start without it being televised? It's a frigging sport, so it should carry on because it's not like the teams have crumbled and disappeared! It's the players and the fans that are losing out here, especially the players. Let them play!

Personally, I don't really care for NBA, however, I hate it when stuff like this happens, because it's the fans that suffer, and at the end of the day it's them that pay the teams wages, through subscribing to sports channels, going the game and so on. It's a massive kick in the head for them if it happens :\

They should force a wage cap and a transfer fee cap on every single commercialised sports team in the world. If the players and the staff don't like it then they can seek employment elsewhere. If the players really do love the sport then they will accept the pay cuts.

In general conclusion, the players and staff don't deserve all of the money that they are getting. Don't get me wrong, it's not their fault, and a lot of the players do some good with the money that they get to help charities and set up their own organisations, but it's unacceptable that they get more money than soldiers who put themselves at risk of death, as well as firemen and other public services.

It's all backwards and madness in my eyes.

I totally agree, they should definitely not earn more than the public services.
