From Dust?
I read an article about it and it seemed interesting. but i diddnt catch a release date....so i was wondering if its out already?
-
Yes. It's out for XBL and cost under 20$. It's worth the buy and a great game. I've beat it once and will be working on the challenges soon.
Edit:
I'm not sure but I don't think it's out for PSN yet.

I'm more than sure it'll be out before the holidays and I would guess it'll be around October. It wouldn't be a good move to release the game during holiday sales anyways.

I bought From Dust yesterday, when it was released for PC on Steam, and I am disappointed.
The idea for the game is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the controls are awful and the visuals are less than impressive. Just another ****ty, lack-of-effort console port.
Congratulations Ubisoft on being complete knobheads. You would think that with the game being delayed for the PC release that they would at least make it look half decent? I have to play the game windowed just so that I can get it to look a bit better. URGH.

Really? It has flaws, sure, your little tribesmen can get caught on the terrain and might actually take the long way around and get themselves killed but that doesn't make it a half-assed game release. Do you see the physics they used for nature? It's amazing. It's a great step in the right direction for unique strategy games. I agree that a lot of console ports do seem to be just thrown out there for a quick buck but what I see with From Dust is they actually went with an idea that was more original than the 50 million generic games that are being released as just "download-only" games like a lot of the Mobile App games..

I didn't bad mouth any of those points that you brought up, and I don't know why you thought I did. I said the controls were gash, and the visuals were awful. If you read what I put, you would notice that I praised the idea of the game, I said it was "fantastic."
The sole source of my disappointment is from the lack of visual quality, because I expect more from a PC game, arcade or not. Another source is the fact that it is obviously just a simple port, with no effort to specialise it for PC whatsoever. It's annoying.
Conclusion: Great idea but cosmetically horrible, minus the nice water effects... but that's about it. Textures suck and there's a lack of anti-aliasing if you don't play the game windowed.

I wasn't arguing your point, I guess it was wrong to really quote everything you said. Though, I will say I don't know what is expected of PC-games graphically. Draelthalas seemed interested in the PS3 version of the game so I guess console gaming standards might be a bit lower but the graphics aren't really all that bad, at least for what it does. I really don't think the game was trying to stand out that visually but I could be wrong. I wanted to state my pros and cons of it as well, as stated in my previous post, not just argue your point because it's still a pretty valid point, especially for the PC-version. I'm giving mine based off the Xbox 360 version which I'm assuming will probably not look as good as the PS3 version.
I'm not a looker, I'm a player so it doesn't have to be too pleasing to my eyes in order for me to enjoy it. That's just how I am and does not mean that everyone should be like that. I'm helping Draelthalas make a decision on if this game is worth the purchase or not and I still think getting it on one of the consoles is a good idea. ^^
