First MMA fight

So I did my first MMA fight tonight at 140 pounds. Honestly, I feel so bad all the smack I talked about these guys. This was one of the most enduring things I have ever done. I landed a few punches that messed him up but then I tried to wrestle him (He was 5"7, I am 6"2). Needling to say, I got tossed and punched in the head until the fight ended.

MMA is for real.... Although I think I'll stick to boxing from now on. Anyone else ever done this before?

I think Blackleo tried some MMA. I'm not much of a physical fighter, I like to mentally beat the crap out of people.

Now, no one can say you haven't tried MMA.

i have not but i know somone who does it all the time. he pretty beast ive seen a few i have not seen a loss but he has had a few.

You're coming in at 6'2 140 pounds? You need to bump a few weight classes. You might find more success in the higher divisions because you can get some muscle and mass.

Well I have an overactive thyroid and am used to boxing. At 6"2 140 in boxing I usually had an 8-10 inch reach advantage. But I would like to fight at like 165-175

It sounds like you'd have more success at Welterweight. That's what I fight at.

before military I did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai for awhile.

From what i have heard this is a sport you have to stay persistent in Lose or Win....Boxers have integrated to this sport and wrestlers and its all about the heart you out into it cause its so real,its like gloving with your back yard bully either your better or your not.....if you loose you watch video and learn from mistakes and go back at it don't ***** out because the first fight.

Haha I'm glad to see this thread growing. I don't think I will be fighting again due to my inability to finish and the end result of it.

@foof, I've always wanted to learn those two arts. I did a lot of Krav Maga throughout college.

@nerf If I could gain I'd like to fight at light heavy because I feel my speed would outdo a lot of the slower fighters.
