I find raisins and nuts (with a 50/50 mix) sometimes covered in chocolate is the way forward for me, with either a selection of cold cuts (sliced brisket, ham, chicken etc) and either a glass of coke or water for me (coke for day time, water for night time)

haha! If you want to shed weight, dont eat pasta, potatoes or bread, thats it. I lost close to 110 lbs over 6 months just by not eating those 3 things in any form. Beyond that, eat in moderation (I still have around 60-70lbs to lose to my personal goal

Oh wow, congrats! That is an awesome loss I actually prefer a moderated diet versus cutting something completely out (like starches). I too lost a ton of weight... went from like 180 to 110-ish (which was wayyyy too skinny for my build/height)... but it was surprisingly easy! I've now gotten back up to about 135 and want to lose 15 lbs and for some reason it has been a struggle for me this time around :/ Mainly because I've gotten into the habit of drinking every day. So, starting today I'm going to be drastically cutting back my alcohol intake which should help a ton D:

My heaviest weight was 410lbs with a 6ft 2in frame. Now at 300. Being a former rugby player (front row), I was at 230lbs and I am aiming for around about 230-240lbs as it suits my frame well.

Oh wow. I bet with all the Rugby you were in great shape, regardless of weight. Grats again on that loss, that's awesome ^,^

I was in decent shape. Could do 100m sprint in 13 seconds, had a tackling power of 1720lbs per square inch at top speed, and a standing tackle of 950lbs per square inch (we used a tackle analyser to see the strength of the tackles and how much they would hurt/how well they would stop someone).

If you think that Kimbo Slice/mike tyson have a punch that equates to 1000lbs per square inch, its a heavy hit!

O_o That's insane. Maaaaan, even at my lowest weight I couldn't run worth a damn and still can't. Although, my thought process was losing weight = automatically meant being athletic. Doesn't quite work that way, unfortunately :P

In school I was known as the steam train...people hated being tackled by me in competitive games at school, hell even the teachers holding the tackle dummies were a bit unhappy with it!

In terms of sprinting, I came from an athletics based family, my dad was military, and he was heavy into fitness (being an RSM, he was a PITA for fitness), we did 5 mile jogs with him when we were younger, which when it came to cross country in school we blitzed it. He also did it FARTLEK style (sprints, jogs, sprints, jogs etc). In school we did 2 miles as cross country (which was twice around the playing field), I was done within 12 mins (aged 13 onwards) and whilst the rest of the Phys.Ed. class were either still on their first lap or just starting their second lap!

As for tackling, again, comes down to my dad. He played for the Army against the Navy several times, and taught me how to do a devastating tackle. My step dad when he married my mum, he too was a rugby nut, and also helped with my tackling.

I suppose Rugby was a perfect game for you then LOL I was raised by non-athletic nerds.... which, knowing me, makes tons of sense :P
