If its profitable for gamestop, what would make it not be profitable for sony or any other company?

Sony would have to buy more stores and hire more people. That alone would be too big of an investment when they could instead make people buy online passes (or whatever they are calling the new thing). Plus they would have to compete with game stores that are already well established like GameStop. Much more profitable supply GameStop with games

Considering Sony just sold their NY office for 1 billion(700 million net after loans and such on it) I dont think they are too interested in getting in more reality

Sony officially isn't blocking used games. Well... at least they're *denying* those reports.

"In response to a question by Eurogamer, Yoshida said "[Consumers] purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation," before declaring "Used games can play on PS4." "

I love my XBox, but I usually buy used games so if it sucks I'm not out $60+. No used games would be enough to switch me to PC gaming forever. I wish Microsoft would clear things up like Sony has.

It's safe to assume that Microsoft won't be doing this, it would be horrible marketing considering that Sony already confirmed they will not.
