Default Ironman suit right around the corner??

Maybe not right around the corner but Cyberdyne has been developing a kind of super suit that is quite Ironman-isque. It's still lacking the "arc reactor" but I'm pretty excited to see how far this suit can go in the next 10 years

They have actually been working on things like that for years. They are also working on making it interface directly with signals from your brain. Theres tons of stuff on ted.com about it. Recently they put one about a monkey controlling a robot with its mind

I guess you didn't watch the video, because this one moves the legs and arms just from signals from the brain...

Yeah I know they're doing that cause that was the whole focus of the video lol it moves the legs and arms by sending signals from the brain to muscles which is picked up by the sensors in the machine and then it moves lol..

Yes I did watch the video And what I meant by interfacing with the brain is reading the signals directly from the brain rather than nerves on the limbs. For example a quadriplegic couldn't use this suit since they can't use their muscles but if it was able to read directly from the brain they could.

Pretty crazy stuff. Next thing you know Cyberdyne will start implementing artificial intelligence in it's robotics and then they'll become self aware at which point we're all screwed.

In all seriousness though, there are computers already that can be controlled with someones brain. I remember learning about it on one of those medical shows about unusual stuff. They actually wired it in to the dudes brain somehow and he could control like the mouse and stuff by brain signal. That was like 8 years ago. At the rate stuff advances these days I can only imagine what they have that is not yet public knowledge.

We should be alright as long as the 3 Laws of Robotics stay in effect
