I've got one of those in my rig. Love it. I currently run everything at max settings with this and it's a decent price. Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite are probably the highest graphic games I've got but it handles those like nothin.
I love using this site to get an idea of video card performance. Also has CPU and such but that is obviously less relevant here.
PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmark Charts
Your card gets an ~1800
The link I posted gets ~3700

You need to post your motherboard with this to make sure it supports the GPU cards.

sounds good then, I made the mistake of picking a cpu that didnt work for my last mobo and had to upgrade that as well. Glad to hear you are being smarter than I was.

@BobTD Did you build your pc outside your case before you put everything in?

Definitely would be a lot easier to build it inside the case first, I could see issues screwing in the motherboard with everything on it lol.
I'd go for a bigger upgrade though, the Radeon HD 7850 isn't that much better than what you have. I'd personally go up to the R9 270x or if you want the Nvidia equivalent go with the GTX 660 Ti
R9 270x Newegg.com - XFX Double D R9-270X-CDFC Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
GTX 660 Ti ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com
They're going to cost a little more, but you'll probably get an extra year or two for being able to run games on max settings.

actually I was cleaning out my computer and took the heatsink out to clearn it and bounced teh CPU by accident bending a pin so badly that It broke when I attempted to fix it, so I decided to upgrade my CPU, and that forced me to upgrade my mobo when I got a CPU that was not supported. =P
But when I originally built my pc I ordered each part and and case and assembled it all at the same time when all the parts had arrived.
