I'm Christian but I'm not like there won't be it, I know people will be gay I have gay friends so I just say I don't like it, I can't fully stop it. I have friends like atheist and other religions but I don't tell them its wrong I just don't believe it. And this country was built on a Christian religion if you don't believe that then watch some stuff on it or just don't believe it but yeah Obama is really fu@&ing this place up. That's just me though.

    Oh I didn't say I didn't like gay people

Are you from the US? And if you are, dafuq are they teaching you kids in history class these days?? Lol

If you are, this country was absolutely not founded on Christianity (or ANY specific religion). Our founding fathers left Europe because of religious persecution. Meaning that those running the country believed that there was one true religion and that everyone should be forced to believe it. Obviously, this upset people who did not agree with the “uniformity of religion must exist in any given society” mindset, and they decided to gtfo and start their own society with hookers and blackjack. Okay, not really. They wanted to start their own society where people were free to worship any god they chose, in any way they wanted. To top it off, many of the founding fathers were not even Christians themselves, but were in fact Deists. They believed in some sort of “god,” but it was not the “God” from the Bible.

So, our founding fathers absolutely did not found this nation based on any one religion (Christianity), but in fact founded it with the exact opposite idea: freedom of religion. Notice how when our founding fathers wrote the Constitution, they mentioned nothing of the nation being a Christian nation. But, they DID write:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Which says that everyone is free to worship whatever religion they believe. Furthermore, they then went on to establish the separation of church from state, which says that in no way should religion interfere with government (which is why gay marriage should in fact be legal).

On top of all of those things, the 1796 Treaty with Tripoli was written under the presidency of George Washington (one of our Founding Fathers himself) and signed under the presidency of yet another Founding Father, John Adams, and states that:

“As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

So not only was this country not founded on any ONE religion, but our Founding Fathers explicitly state that this country is in no way founded on the Christian religion as well.

    Yay for History lessons! :P

Yes I agree they said come and worship whoever you want but they themselves were mostly episcopal and yes there was some deism and some atheism here and there but majority rule was episcopal
Episcopal Church (United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
And yes I'm fully Native American from Alabama
And also thanksgiving (with pilgrims and Native Americans the first first founders) credited god for thier survival though the harsh winters

The info is all their Americas people was originally Christian
Also George Washington was Anglican they made this country for freedom why would they say it was a Christian country if they wanted people to come and worship freely but they where in fact followers of Christianity

What religion are you Mizel if your comfortable saying?

You didn't link or post information that states or proves anywhere that "America was originally Christian" or any counterargument to any of the points that I made. Actually, what you did do was prove my point more- that America was founded on religious freedom and in fact NOT founded on any ONE religion.

Saying that Episcopalian was what the majority of people followed, and linking the wiki page on the Episcopal Church, does not prove that this country was founded on Christianity. It just says that a lot of people followed that certain religion. Like you even said, a lot of people also followed other religions. Which means that you proved my point and that, again, America was founded on the belief of the acceptance of *multiple* religions, not just one.

And what about the fact that our founding fathers themselves said -wrote, recorded- and then signed a document stating that "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion?" It's kind of hard to argue that this country was founded on Christianity when the people that founded it specifically stated that it wasn't. That's like the equivalent of your teacher giving you a printout of your next homework assignment and it's due date of Jan 29th. When you fail to hand in your homework on that specific date, you can argue with your teacher all you want that the due date says February 29th.... but when it comes down to it, the proof is right there in front of you, in writing.
