How do you message during gameplay?

When playing online how do you send messages to other players while playing the game?

Oh then ya I wait for a break or when the game is done. It's to much of a hassle to text and play at the same time.

well i usually use a headset and talk whether it is with a playstation game or pc game - although the ps2 ones didn't really help me much other than Socom II which was good - in pc games that I play now, its 90% mic, and 10% in game chat - they both work

I've only played one game that takes a mic. Civ IV. But ya I like to use a mic. But lately my hasn't been working. Also my xbox live isn't working either.

If I'm playing MGS4 online and want to talk to someone at the same time I use my usb keyboard.

step1: push the playstation button
step2: scroll over to your friends list
step3: do your message
step4: push the playstation button again to get back into the game
