Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Sega has announced that a new and exciting title is in development - Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1. This is going to be a continuation of the original Sonic the Hedgehog series - the 2D side scrolling action adventure of awesome - picking up with the plot where if left off in Sonic and Knuckles.

Everything about it is trying to stay close to home. The aim seems to be to create a game that's like "what if Sonic 3 were developed and rendered with today's technology and graphics?"

It'll be available for download (exclusively) from PSN, Xbox Live, and WiiWare (and possibly other sources, they haven't announced yet) this summer. If you run along to www.sonicthehedgehog4.com you can hype yourself up with the little bits (and I mean VERY little bits) of info they've leaked there.

This should be a cute, cheap, fun few hours of nostalgic and entertaining gaming!
