Doing a research project on gamers. Could you answer a few questions please?

Hello all,

I am new to the forum but not to gaming. I am taking a college course called youth cultures where we are required to write a research paper about a certain youth subculture. I decided to choose gaming because it is very familiar to me and I enjoy learning about the community. As part of my research question I must evaluate the differences between professional and leisure gaming and would really appreciate you answering a few questions about yourself and how you feel about the subculture in its professional and casual aspects.
