i've never had a sony product break down, i have all the playstations except for PS3 along with 2 digital cameras and a bunch of other sony products which still work after so many years lol

My bothers play station broke after about 5 years. The lends stopped reading the disk....
Having the ps2 or ps1 since it came out isn't that big of a deal. Look at atari's and NES. They have been out for over 20 years, a lot of them work fine. It doesn't matter really who makes the product, they were all made to last.

really? because PS2 was total fail, the fatty being the worst offender. Nearly as bad as the 360. PS1 wasn't that much better, I've must of had like 4 or 5 PS2 fail and several PS1.

yea i bought my ps2 when it first came out, still works like new - my sis plays it more than i do now

PS3 has no problems. the PS2 only thing that happened to me was it wouldn't read some of the last gen Games. my PS1 worked great till the end.

I've had my PS1 since about 1998 and it still works perfect (i gave it to a friend though since i have ps2 and ps3 but he no longer has ps1 and wanted to play his favorite game)

Hmn..
I haven't heard this.
But I was pretty disappointed when I found out my Ps3 couldn't play Ps2 games. ><
It's only 40gb. =/
I believe it's the 60gb that can play Ps2 games?
Anyway. Would that count as "poorly made" ?

No, that's your fault for not reading up and knowing Sony took out the PS2parts to save money. Poorly made would be PS2 failing because of disc read errors, poorly made would be 360 getting a RROD. Anyways, 20 gb can play PS2 games, 60 gb as well, old 80 gb PS3's can as well. 40 gb and the new 80 gb's won't be able to.

I didn't even know a thing about the Ps3 cuz I didn't want it. .-.
My dad bought it for himself.
He is technologically impared...
Didn't expect him to know a thing like that. So yeah.
