In that same companion cube puzzle she tells you not to attempt to bring the cube. Its hard but you can figure out how to bring it to the elevator:

 

But then she fries it and tells you they are sentient cubes, but still they have thousands.

Lol yea I got the achievement without looking at the achievement list, but I'm sad
