    Don't use any Anti Virus.

Just be smart with what you're doing and you will be fine. Also when downloading files (depending on size) :

    Jottis malware scan

Of course this is just how I do it...I've been safe but eh.

I used to use ESET NOD32 for a little bit. and it worked nicely.

Not having an AV is too risky in this day and age you dont know what is safe and what has infected files. the best way to find some good AV is to do some research and experiment with what you like.

I'm sorry Aaron.mw, I can't listen to you. how are you able to be secure? man... well, some security freeware is worth having, but there must be an official one to help you stay safe...
but jokersvirus, you forgot to mention somethin like hackers using links... thats the modern way now I think. keyloggers or somethin like that? not sure..

You could be the most careful user in the world, but it doesn't guarantee that you won't get undetected nasties on your system.

if you have a good antivirus it will be able to pick up threats some programs like threatfire, free edition, have a behavior analysis in it and if it acts funny it will stop it and alert you

Go Norton 360 bro. Flawless high quality protection 24/7. Have had it since it came out, not even 1 bug, not 1 program messing up cause of it. Easy to use too!

I'd say go with Norton 360.

As I told Kenoi in private chat if you have comcast internet and cable, im not sure if you need both, you have access to Norton Security Suite and its really cool, plus you get access to some other free norton products on their website
